Penley Estate Eos Shiraz Cabernet

A 65% Shiraz, 35% Cabernet blend, which manages to be intense yet refined at the same time. A stunning drink now but will also reward further cellaring. Decant.Deep red. Blackberry, plum, dried sage, dark chocolate and charry oak aromas. Deeply flavoured and richly fruited, with fine yet deep tannins underpinning the savoury mix of red and black fruit, supple acidity and plenty of oak on the rich finish.

Domaine Cosse Maisonneuve La Fage

COSSE MAISON NEUVE Lafage, Cahors Rouge 100% Malbec. A nose of ink and coffee and a mouthful on the black fruits, velvety tannins, a formidable balance with a nice fresh tension. The fruit for the Lafage Cahors Rouge is sourced from a 5 ha vineyard with an average vine age of 30 years planted on soils of clay and gravel. The juice is vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. The wine then spends 14 months in barrels before being bottled without filtering.

Noon Reserve Shiraz

Langton's Classification: Outstanding

Noon Winery has become a cult figure in the wine world due to their opulent red wines that are known for their concentration and power. Not beholden to the trend of lower-alcohol, leaner styles, Drew and Raegan Noon produce block-buster reds that are in huge demand the world over. Their Reserve Shiraz is so highly thought of, it sits in the Outstanding category in Langton's Classification of Australian Wine. With fruit sourced from the '20 Rows' block in Langhorne Creek owned by the Borrett family, this is a Shiraz of serious weight and body. Still very young, aromas of violets, lavender and herbs are balanced with traditional fruit notes of blueberries and spice. Big and fleshy on the palate while still showing supreme complexity, this is a wine that needs some decanting before enjoying the saturating flavours that Noon can offer.

Penfolds Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon

Langton's Classification: Excellent

Penfolds Bin 407 began life back in 1993 with the release of the 1990 vintage Cabernet Sauvignon. Created as a result of the availability of high quality Cabernet fruit, Bin 407 is inspired by its older brother, Bin 707. Not only offering varietal definition, but also approachability, structure and depth of flavour. The Bin 407 highlights the Penfolds approach to multi-region, multi-vineyard blending to create a Cabernet that rewards the drinker in both early and later years.

Elio Grasso Gavarini Vigna Chiniera

Gavarini Vigna Chiniera is a contemporary expression of traditional Barolo. Of Grassos two regular Barolos, Chiniera is the more feminine in style, showing a more floral personality in a finer, more elegant style. The fruit comes from a south-facing 3 ha plot within the Gavarini vineyard, 320-360 meters above sea level, on relatively loose-packed, slightly sandy, calcareous soil. Driven by rigorous attention to detail in the vineyard and picking at optimum phenolic maturity, the Grasso style is underscored by immaculate winemaking. Vigna Chiniera is fermented in stainless steel and typically spends 30 days on skins followed by 30 months maturation in 2500L Slavonian oak casks.
