A generous and well-rounded fruit driven Pinot Gris, laden with bright green apple and pear with a hint of honeysuckle and a long finish makes for a beautiful wine.The Stonehaven winery was built in 1998 by Hardy’s, with a focus to express what the Limestone Coast can offer as a region. Now in the hands of C.W. Wines, we have released Stonehaven back into the market, with a refreshed look and campaign, targeting the modern-day wine drinker. Stonehaven's brand ethos is all about 'depth and discovery' and this is a key message carried throughout the branding, marketing, and most importantly the wines.

A savoury crisp pinot gris from master wine-maker Rob Dolan out of the Yarra Valley. Classic rose petals, melon, guava pear aromas overflowing from the glass. The finish is savoury and long, making this a wonderful food style wine.

The grapes were picked in the cool of the early morning and transported directly to the winery for crushing. After draining off skins, the wine was fermented at a cool temperature with neutral yeast over a two week period. After fermentation, the wine remained on yeast lees with regular bâtonnage for a number of months to enhance weight and mouthfeel. The selected parcel was fined and filtered prior to bottling in September. Brilliant pale straw with a very slight tinge of varietal bronze. Aromas of nashi pear, crunchy apples, nectarine and honeysuckle. Bright fresh and fleshy fruit flavours of peach and nectarine, soft textural mid palate with a touch of viscosity followed by a crisp, freshening citrus acidity finish perfectly balanced with a touch of residual sweetness. Enjoy with Spencer Gulf kingfish, celtuce, green daikon & smoked dashi, or charcoal roasted squid and pork belly with smoky chilli and roasted red onion.
