Cabernet Sauvignon

McPherson XV Pure

Riverscape Estate Langhorne Creek Cabernet Sauvignon

This classy, smooth as silk Cabernet hails from the famous soils of Langhorne Creek. Hurry to reserve your share of this tiny volume red. Dark crimson in the glass, with enticing aromas of blackberry, ripe red cherry, red capsicum and fresh herbs. Hints of dark chocolate sit on the back palate and run to a long, smooth, complex finish. No need to cellar (though you can, for another 3 years or so if you like). It's drinking beautifully now.

Bentwing Reserve Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon

Coonawarra is a very special place. It doesn’t share the relentless dry heat of the Adelaide summer, being much more temperate. It also has the excellent free-draining terra rossa soils that make it perfect for grape-growing. The resulting wines show incredible richness, flavour, structure and complexity - as you'll taste with the mighty Bentwing Reserve Coonawarra Cabernet here. It's a terrific partner to a lamb roast.

Jim Barry Single The Farm Single Vineyard Clare Valley Cabernet

Hungerford Hill Single Vineyard Hilltops Cabernet Malbec

This Single Vineyard Malbec from 5-star-rated Hungerford Hill’s talented Bryan Currie is “Ripe, plush, weighty and inviting with fabulous fruit concentration" It boasts: "... Dark berry fruit plus scented red rose petals and a hint of musk." (Toni Paterson, The Halliday Wine Companion).

Lehmann Hesketh MK 03 Coonawarra Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon

Coonawarra cabernet and Barossa shiraz, by Phil Lehmann and Jonathon Hesketh, celebrating their fathers Peter and Robert, who also worked together, huge figures in SA wine history. “A powerful, full-bodied wine that pulls no punches along the journey, black fruits dominant. Balance is already a keynote, cabernet defending its place without obvious handling bias, shiraz following suit, hence will sustain the wine over its long life-span. 95pts.” (James Halliday)

Wild Daisy Cabernet Sangiovese

Andrew McPherson has a well-deserved reputation for being a great brilliant technical innovator and made wine all over the world before settling back in Australia. He was chief winemaker for many years, but that honour now belongs to Jo Nash. Wild Daisy is as lively as its pretty label – Cabernet with a portion of cherry-fresh, Italian inspired Sangiovese, so what you enjoy is an Aussie version of one of Italy’s pricey, ‘super Tuscans’. It’s a delicious drop, a top choice at a barbecue, with pizza or pasta. Great solo too.
