The 20th of July 1969 is a significant date in Taylors history; not only was it the day that astronaut Neil Armstrong took one small step on the surface of the moon, but also the day that Bill Taylor set foot on, what was the become the renowned Taylor family vineyard. While one stepped on the barren lunar surface, the other stepped on rich terra rossa soils with the hope and determination to craft wines to rival the world's best. The wine has tropical aromas of passionfruit and guava with a hint of freshly cut grass. This wine has a crisp and zippy palate with regional varietal flavours of tropical fruit up front and then gooseberry and some herbaceousness across the mid-palate. There is a naturally delicate, cleansing acidity to the wine with a soft, persistent finish.

Taylors St Andrews Shiraz from the Clare Valley is a classic and is consistently a show-stopper. The bouquet shows rich plum and cherry fruit with earthy spice and the palate is perfectly balanced with soft silky tannins.

From the grand masters in Port comes Taylor's 10 year old tawny from Portugal. It is derived from maturation in 630 litre casks and is noted for its delicate wood notes combined with gentle scented, sweet ripe red fruits. Displays lovely fresh lemon, spice, floral and caramel notes with a hint of honey. Drier than typical Aussie tawnies, but very enjoyable with power and a very long finish.

A great vintage of a great wine. It is fully mature but still vibrant and nowhere near the end of its life. The cork was obviously impeccable as this is a perfect bottle. Wonderful licorice, aniseed and spicy fruit aromas of enormous complexity and charm. Full-bodied, intense and very, very long on the palate. The tannins have softened out superbly. A great wine. Taylors celebrated 40 years in business with its first fizz. Fragrant notes on the nose, creamy and complex, bright citrus and stonefruit flavours, fine, persistent bubbles and a crisp, dry finish. A classic white sparkler from one of our favourite families.

Taylors Pinot Gris is a strikingly varietal wine showing notes of baked apple and pear on the nose, with characteristic texture on the palate and soft acidity on the finish. Ideally suited to a whole range of foods, especially flash-barbecued prawns.

Taylors Discoveries Shiraz is a deep red with a vibrant purple hues, showcasing lifted fruit aromas of red currant, plum and a touch of spice. Subtle chocolate flavours and savoury characters from the oak maturation add complexity which balance perfectly the rich plum and spice on the palate. Soft and fleshy, with a silky smooth finish. Short term cellaring will reward, however able to be enjoyed immediately.

Imminently approachable and deliciously fresh, Taylors Discoveries Chardonnay is a pale straw with a slightly green hue, with fresh, lifted aromas of peach and subtle tropical fruit characters along with touch of citrus. Mouth-filling whilst still embracing a light and delicate texture. Refreshing tight acidity and a lovely clean finish.
