In 1858, Madame Pommery took over as head of Pommery & Greno after the death of her husband. She based the expansion of her House on the creation of wines unlike any others, with one constant demand: quality pushed to the extreme. In matters of taste she was ahead of her time. It was she who created Pommery Nature in 1874, the first brut champagne to meet with commercial success, thereby breaking with the tradition of very sweet wine. A woman in a man’s world, she imprinted her personality on her champagnes. Champagne Pommery Brut Royal is the essence of the Pommery style- finesse, fresh, and liveliness, fresh. Produced with fruit from 40 selected villages in the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims and other areas in the Champagne region where the liveliness and delicacy of the chardonnay grape is enhanced by the climate. This champagne is a plate yellow colour with light green highlights. The nose is delicate but generous, lively, fresh, and fine. The palate small assertive notes of red fruits. Having taken the time to choose the best plots, having waited patiently before going to harvest, having picked only the finest bunches and selected onlythe purest pressed juices, we managed to perfectly unleash the potential of this vintage, while preserving the identity of the terroirs of the three Grands Crus that make up CuvéeLouise by Pommery: Ay, Avize and Cramant. Cuvée Louise is the perfect champagne to celebrate an exceptional moment. Great accompainment to oysters, steamed fish as well as grilled vegetables such as asparagus, mushrooms and artichokes.

Established in 1836, Madame Pommery is credited with creating the first vintage ‘brut’ style of Champagne in 1874, at a time when most champagnes were excessively sweetened with sugar.
