Although geographically quite compact, the Barossa is a 'BIG' place. BIG fruit, BIG flavour, BIG oak, BIG smiles. This wine encapsulates the local mindset to a tee. There's punchy red and black fruit, a whack of oak and a long spicy finish. There's a lot of wine in this wine. When Australia first starting producing grenache blends like this, the French nearly declared war. This is not a wine to chuck in your ice bucket and enjoy with some tapas. A full-bodied expression of the blend with ripe dark fruit, a savoury earthiness and bright, lively acidity. These three grapes just get on together. Like any good team, they support each other and rather than fight for the limelight, they work together to create a wine that's greater than the sum of its parts and trust us, there's certainly some great parts.
