The Henschke Barbera vines were planted on rocky loam soils adjacent to the nebbiolo in 2002, on a north-facing slope at the source of the North Para River in Eden Valley. The Roeslein (little rose) name is a tribute to the early Roesler (occupational name for rose grower) family property, now the Henschke Eden Valley Vineyard. This small parcel of low-wielding barbera was hand selected and vinified in open-top fermenters, resulting in a medium-bodied, vibrant style. Henschke Roeslein Barbera 2021 is made from 100% Barbera grown on the Henschke Eden Valley vineyard, managed with organic and biodynamic practices. Matured in 100% seasoned French oak hogsheads for 10 months prior to blending and bottling. Vibrant ruby in colour with garnet hues with lively aromas of vivid raspberry, red currant, violets and rosehip with notes of anise, milk chocolate and cooking spices. The palate has great energy, with fleshy blueberry, raspberry and red currant, grilled orange peel and bright acidity, driving a long, grainy tannin finish.

Henschke Julius is a classic expression of Eden Valley Riesling. An almost perfect vintage has provided the citrus blossom and lime aromas and an intense minerally structure which will develop for a decade at least.

This blend of Shiraz, Grenache and Viognier is a relatively recent addition to Henschke's impressive range. Typically fragrant plum and raspberry aromas, followed by a velvety palate with rich fruit flavours and well intergraded tannins. Henry's Seven will not disappoint.

Vineyard: The 2022 season started with above average winter rainfall helped to refill soil profiles and the cool, slow start to the growing season resulted in budburst occurring slightly later than average. A frost event occurred on 11 October, followed by an extreme hail event on the 28th October, and the cold and wet weather mid-November coincided with flowering, and impacted fruit-set and potential yields December and January provided a burst of summer heat, however at the beginning of vintage another severe weather event dealt a deluge of rain and even more hail to some parts of the region. While mild and dry conditions followed, the cumulative impacts of the season's weather events resulted in lower yields across the region. The 2022 wines show great aromatics, balance of acidity and a bright core of flavour. Nose - Strawberries, Cream, Spices A detailed, ginger-spiced rendition of grenache that offers pure red cherry and raspberry fruit tones, edged with notes of citrus blossom, red liquorice, earth. Palate - Raspberry, Citrus Blossom, Red Liquorice There is a sense of space and light shining in on the fruit here, a detail to the red fruits and spice. Finish - Powdered Stone Tannins, Earth, Gingerbread Spice Poised with a lovely spiced red-fruit wash, powdered stone tannins and a minerally cadence. Showing great length, this is harmonious, approachable and surely destined for a long life of ten years in any decent cellar.

Bright crimson with ruby hues. Sweet, fragrant aromas of red and blue fruits, cherries and raspberries with hints of dried flowers, herbs, spices and cedar. The medium-weight palate is beautifully structured with rich, juicy red fruit flavours and powerful fine-grained tannins for an excellent length and and lipsmacking acidity.

Henschke have in recent years begun to identify and single out great quality parcels of Shiraz fruit that deserves to be bottled seperately and released as part of their Vineyard Selection. The Tappa Pass Shiraz is sourced from old low yielding Barossa vineyards that shows amazing depth and concentration. Rich, lush and intense it will develop further complexity with bottle age.
