Haselgrove

Haselgrove Col Cross Shiraz

The Col Cross Story Somewhere in McLaren Vale youll find a very special block of old vine Shiraz. If you search for it, an olive grove to the west and an ancient chapel will be your guide. The shallow soils overlying a bedrock of limestone and the gentle sea breezes consistently provide us with fruit of exception quality. Dense, classic Shiraz characters of blackberry and dark cherry mesh seamlessly with spicy anise and cedary French oak. A concentrated palate of generous dark fruits and black cherry, the old vines contribute complex spices, cinnamon and nutmeg. A full bodied mouth filling wine that is perfectly balanced by a lingering structural finish.

Haselgrove Staff Chardonnay

Selected from a single vineyard at Kuitpo. A northerly facing slope provides the warmth to produce lifted stone fruit and tropical fruit flavours while the cool nights maintain the elegance and mineral acid backbone which gives ageing ability and life to the wine. This Chardonnay exhibits fresh and bright with complex aromas of white rose, melon and cashew. Impeccably balanced with a creamy texture and an acid structure reminiscent of lemon sorbet. The finish is long and dry and a perfect accompaniment to your favourite seafood dish.

Bursting with cherries, red currants and spicy pepper notes, this a great Shiraz to pair with eggplant parmigiana or barbecued lamb shanks.

Haselgrove Bella Vigna Reserve Parcel Shiraz

Amongst a few ripping McLaren Vale wines- many of them shiraz- we sat at the tasting bench in awe of this reserve parcel from Haselgrove. This is the kind of wine that you might take for granted amongst a deep sea of shiraz, but we're here to tell you that you should be doing anything but. This is excellent value, in fact Wine Buyer Pete exclaimed "This is a whole lot of wine for the price". A focused nose and palate of blue fruits mingling with chocolate and spiced fruit cake notes. The finish on this beauty is long, but the happy feeling you'll get from drinking a wine this good is certainly longer.
