In 1898, John Duff built the Speyside Distillery, BenRiach. It is one of the few distilleries with its own on-site floor malting and draws its water from the Burnside Springs. Benriach is one of only seven distilleries in Scotland that continues to produce a whisky from 100 per cent malted barley, carrying on a centuries-old tradition. In the case of Malting Season 2, it carries the legacy started by Benriach Malting Season 1 that first launched in 2021, and is crafted from concerto barley, chosen by Master Blender Rachel Barrie for its wholesome cereal flavour. Celebrating traditional methods dating back to the earliest days of Benriach Distillery, Benriach Malting Season is the first expression in a century to be produced entirely using barley malted from our Speyside distillery's historic floor maltings. The second edition of Benriach Malting Season is two-cask matured in bourbon and new charred oak barrels to bring out the wholesome, creamy flavour we find in the distillery’s floor malted spirit, giving a beautiful barley gold colour to the liquid. The expression boasts a rich aroma of barley sugar, almond fudge and poached orchard apple with smooth, rounded flavours of vanilla and honeyed pear, with a lasting nuttiness of slowly kilned malt.

The Twelve is a rich and smooth expression of Benriach Single Malt. Matured in a sherry rich profile with the addition of bourbon and port casks, this intriguing malt has layers of baked fruit, maple honey sweetness and lingering oak spice.Tasting Notes:Nose - rich maple honey, cocoa and baked forest fruit.Palate - maraschino cherry, baked orange and hazelnut, with a lingering sultana and spiced mocha finish.Smoke Level - nil.

Ruggedly beautiful, Benriach stands on the site of the old Riach farm in north Speyside, drawing water from a mineral-rich aquifer, deep beneath the distillery. Benriach 21 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (New Release)

In 1898, John Duff built the Speyside Distillery, BenRiach. It is one of the few distilleries with its own on-site floor malting and draws its water from the Burnside Springs. This exquisite single malt has been crafted from a combination of unpeated and peated spirit and four cask matured for at least twenty one years in bourbon barrels, sherry casks, virgin oak casks and Bordeaux red wine casks. During long maturation, Benriach’s sweet Speyside smoke mellows and integrates with the fruit, malt and oak. After twenty one years, rich layering develops into an elegant honey smoke, enriched through multi-layered cask maturation. The whisky from each cask type, imbued with particular flavour characteristics, is then expertly married together to create a rich and elegant single malt, layered with lush orchard fruit and toasted pine wood with a honey smoke finish. All in perfect balance. This whisky has a honey gold colour. Aromas of berry fruit, orchard apple, wild honey and mountain oak spice. Candied grape, rich cocoa, smoked pine nut, across the palate finishing with caramelised pear and honey smoke.
