SMALL ISLAND WINES Black Label Pinot Noir, Tasmania

Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark to brick red hue. Elevated aromas of ripe dark cherries intermix with anise, earthy notes, some meatiness and spicy cedar. Quite rich and full the palate is laden with ripe black cherry and anise flavours which overlay a back drop of toasty cedar, dried meats and earth. Spicy finish with sturdy, slightly grainy tannins. Long spicy black cherry and anise aftertaste.

Barringwood Mill Block Pinot Noir shows a soft raspberry red colour in the glass. The wine presents a generous nose of cherries and raspberries underlined by earthy and cherry tones. The fruit is hand picked at harvest, lightly crushed and destemmed before fermentation with small quantities of whole bunch fruit. The wine displays a vibrant red colour. On the nose rose petal and black cherry aromas are supported by attractive stemmy, whole bunch characters. The palate is soft and round with sweet fruit flavours and a creamy texture. Bright natural acidity provides a crisp lingering finish.
