Redman Bill & Arthur Coonawarra Shiraz

The Bill & Arthur is named after two pioneering and well-regarded Coonawarra local legends and, we are delighted to tell you, that in the glass, this special exclusive is deep, dark and downright delicious. Drawn from the 1890s heritage row and other Redman vineyards with an average vine age of about 50 years, the Bill & Arthur stands as a classic Coonawarra Shiraz: medium-bodied, with a richness of fruit that ripens at a lower alcohol level than typical Barossa and McLaren Vale Shiraz. Hand-plunged and basket-pressed, the 2021 exhibits generous blackcurrent, violet and bramble aromas, leading to a savoury flavor profile with a touch of pepper and Chinese five-spice playing in the background. Just add barbequed ribeye with black pepper sauce. Dan Redman describes the 2021 vintage as one of Coonawarra’s best. Matured in aged American and French oak for about 12 months. Will cellar for 5 to 10 years but ready for immediate drinking pleasure.

A long-standing favourite variety in Bordeaux, malbec does particularly well in Coonawarra. The Petaluma Project Company Malbec is a ripe-fruited, finely structured, spicy dry red with smooth, abundant and rich tannins.The Project Co is Petaluma’s outlet for innovation beyond its core stable of cabernet from Coonawarra, chardonnay from the Adelaide Hills and riesling from the Clare Valley. The range showcases alternative varieties that you might not be so familiar with, and the different production techniques that go along with them. Leconfield Coonawarra Merlot

An elegant yet full flavoured Merlot that shows great fruit concentration. There is the inherent fruit sweetness and persistence expected from Coonawarra with fine long silky tannins that fill out the palate.

The Balnaves Coonawarra Vineyard was established in 1975 and is situated at the southern end of the Coonawarra Terra Rossa strip. The Balnaves family arrived in the region in 1855 from Paisley, Scotland and opened their first general store in Penola in 1858.Balnaves have used Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to make this modern Sparkling red. This wine is a blend of complex and elegant parcels from ten vintages of reserve wines, matured in a solera system.Rich and complex with cassis, blackberry and violet, combined with mature Coonawarra Cabernet characters of chocolate, leather and truffle. Ready to drink on release, this wine will gain complexity and softness with careful cellaring.

Rymill Coonawarra Classic Shiraz

A perfect spicy companion, expressing the subtlety of shiraz in a region defined by cool climate and outstanding soil. Driven blueberry and cherry fruit palate.A continuation of dark chocolate from the aroma balances with a supple and elegantly textured mouthfeel. Toasty oak midpalate supports these youthful flavours and deep tannins to provide a harmonious and persistent finish.
