Mount Pleasant Wines Estate Shiraz
Not many wineries encompass the Aussie spirit quite like Mount Pleasant. Established by Maurice O'Shea in 1921, they are the definition of resilience, strong connection to the land and hard work. The Hunter Valley shines in 2018 and shiraz is the vehicle in which we can best enjoy this beautiful wine growing region. Perfectly balance and intense, this wine is dying for some BBQ meats, a big steak or a hearty stew and will drink amazingly now and into the future, just make sure you've got enough stashed away because when a great vintage like this rolls around, the wines always disappear — buy up.
Usher Tinkler Wines Shiraz Pinot
This Shiraz Pinot red blend from the Hunter Valley was made from hand harvested grapes, and then whole berry fermented without stalks. The fruit flavours have been enhanced by gentle winemaking techniques. Aged for just 3 months in old French oak, this results in a medium bodied wine with flavours of mulberries, plums and cherries, and soft sweet tannins.
Dalwood Estate Hunter Valley Shiraz

Macquariedale Organic Wines Thomas Shiraz

This wine will become well integrated and more complex with extended cellaring.
First Creek Shiraz
First Creek make a lot of Shiraz for others, so when they get to hand craft their own, they know a thing or two about the style they love to make. In the glass: Deep red purple. On the nose: Bright, vibrant dark cherry and peppery spice. On the palate: A dense core of plummy fruit with very lively acidity. Powerful yet poised with lovely chewy textural notes and well-judged oak.
