Geometric is an unapologetically a bold juniper and coriander gin. Along with subtle Cape Malay style cinnamon, cardamom and clove lined with the earthy indigenous buchu and Cape snowbush.Botanicals are bound together with Cape brandy, a masterfully textured spirit which gives this gin its uniquely rich and round profile. Prominent juniper and earth notes followed by subtly spiced citrus. Juniper, Cape snowbush and clove interlace around the soft-edged texture of the spirit. Cardamom and coriander pull the spirit to the back of the palate for a surprisingly long finish. The latest Starward Projects release, UNEXPEATED is a limited release whisky that has seen the old world and new worlds collide. We started with our juicy signature red wine barrel aged single malt whisky. Then we swerved from the expected. Heavily peated whisky barrels direct from Islays finest distilleries gave our whisky a maritime peat character never yet tasted in Starward whiskies.

The short season in Adelaide of blood oranges herald winter turning to spring. To celebrate, their blood oranges were sourced from a single orchard near Loxton, then peeled and distilled with the finest botanicals within days of picking. Cool nights and sweltering days, typical of the region, produce the perfect growing conditions. Juicy, loud, and playful – they are paired with Riverland lemons and mandarins for citrus contrast and depth. Strawberry gum, chamomile and cinnamon myrtle enhance the floral characteristics.

Four Pillars Navy Strength is a gin very much in the style of the Rare Dry Gin but with the volume turned up slightly beyond 11. At 58.8% ABV the gin can support some more robust and interesting botanicals, so there are three new botanicals that are both new (and fresh), including fresh turmeric and ginger. Together they have heightened the spiciness of the gin, and the turmeric in particular has added weight and a lovely earthiness to the palate. Also in the botanical basket about half the normal oranges have been replaced with some explosive native finger limes, grown in Byron Bay. They have an intensity of flavour and acid that is almost impossible to believe, and in the basket they help the gin attain super citrus notes and lovely high-toned freshness.
