The grapes for our 2016 Showy Willow Sauvignon Blanc come from a small vineyard at the top of Willunga Hill in the Adelaide Hills. The fruit was hand pick and progressively transported to our winemaker in McLaren for crushing and fermentation. Aromas This is a pale yellow-green wine presenting intensely tropical aromas with passionfruit and pineapple leading to a rich full palate.

Off dry with 13 grams residual sugar this wine is perfectly balanced with crisp acidity. Stone fruits, green apple a hint of perfume rounded up with a crisp saline finish.

Tasting Notes:The 2019 Spring Vale Sauvignon Blanc has intense aromas and flavours of passionfruit and guava with subtle citrus, floral and cut grass characters. Ah, Tasmanian Chardonnay, never leave me. There's a creaminess here, a generosity that entices you to drink more. Peach yoghurt, almond croissant and custard apple do their rounds on the palate before the texture and minerals start coming through, bringing with them some zestier flavours - lemon drop and green apple. This could go either way and, while it is drinking very happily now, I'd be equally interested to see what a few years might bring. Drink: 2022-2025. Price: $35. Rating: 90/100.
