Big, though seductively gentle.TASTE: The delivery, though controlled at first, is massive; gentle smoke turns into warming, full-blown peat, aided by a subtle custard trifle note. An oaky vanilla hammers home that barley, alongside an intense chocolate fudge which absolutely resonates through the palate.FINISH: A mouth-filling sweetness accompanies the malt to a satisfying end, though. After this, the spices, rather than lying down and accepting their fate, rise up and usher this extraordinary whisky to its final curtain-call." The Amrut distillery was founded in 1948 as Amrut Laboratories. Established by Shri J N Radhakrishna, the company started blending and bottling various alcoholic beverages. During the 1950s and 1960s, Amrut launched products for the Indian armed forces as well as the general market; products included the dark rum Amrut XXX and Silver Cup Brandy. During the 1970s, Amrut began marketing a grape brandy called Bejois, made from Bangalore blue grapes.

A 100% rye made in Brunswick, Melbourne from all-Australian grain grown in the Mallee. Following double distillation the whisky is matured in a two-storey tall bespoke solera system composed of new American oak and x Australian wine barrels.

Our Cotswolds Single Malt Whisky is the first whisky ever distilled in the Cotswolds. We use 100% locally grown, floor-malted barley and mature the whisky in first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels and reconditioned red wine casks. Rich, fruity and sippable with notes of honey, Seville orange marmalade and dark red fruits. Tasting Notes Nose: Notes of honey and butterscotch layered with light fruits (peaches & apricots), a hint of marzipan. Palate: Strong notes of tannin-rich malt, oils and dark sugar with lots of spice, caramelised Seville orange marmalade. Finish: Long and resinous, with dark red fruits and a hint of treacle.
