Hither & Yon Syrah Adelaide Hills,

Clarendon Hills Sandown Vineyard Syrah

The Old Vine Syrah patch was planted in the 1930s and is on a slope of the property with a westerly aspect. These old gnarly vines are planted in heavily decomposed ironstone and quartz. The style of wine is completely individual and the winemaking team always comment on how light the style is and how exotic the spices are in this vineyard. The spices come across like incense mixed with deeply aromatic and smoky lapsang oolong tea. Exotic characters such as sandalwood, cocoa powder, sarsaparilla and cola elements top the roast meat and flinty, strawberry and cream palette of this wine. The lighter frame on this style is highly attractive and the intoxicating spices combine to create something highly exotic.

Levantine Hill Estate Syrah

Levantine Hill Estate Syrah 2013 has bright crimson colour. Brooding, lifted complex aromas of red berry compote, musk, cardamom and white pepper compliment the underlying nutmeg and vanillin bouquet. The elegant medium-bodied palate abounds with spice and earthy nuances in a concentration of savouriness. The silky ripe tannins have been deftly integrated with the underlying oak providing carriage for the fruit weight and lingering flavours to a pronounced and persistent finish.

Famille Perrin Reserve Côtes du Rhône

Classic Côtes du Rhône from Famille Perrin: Fruity and fleshy with beautiful tannins. This wine is a blend of Grenache (mainly from our Prýbois vineyard in Orange), Syrah from further north (from our vineyard in Vinsobres) and Mourvýdre. Produced by the Perrin family, using the same viticultural and wine-making techniques used at Chýteau de Beaucastel.

Alain Graillot Syrocco Syrah

Graillot is arguably one the finest winemakers in the Rhone Crozes-Hermitage region. On a cycling holiday in Morocco, he discovered vineyards along the Atlantic Coast, in the Atlas Mountains. In spite of only 20 hectares of vineyards, it is relatively cool climate thanks to the ocean breezes and an altitude of about 500m. The vines' aged between 10-40 years old. There is no use of herbicide or fungicide treatment to the vineyard. All the work is done by hand, which reduced damage to the grapes and resulting in an elegant yet intensely concentrated Syrah.

Innocent Bystander Syrah

For lovers of great Australian Shiraz, but with a balanced savoury kick, the Innocent Bystander Syrah is your wine. Made by the crew at Giant Steps in the Yarra Valley, this Syrah (Shiraz) has wonderful redcurrant and cherry fruit flavours with an underlying tone of herbs and savouriness.

Highland Heritage Mt Canobolas Vineyard Syrah

The 2017 vintage in Orange was unusually warm and dry, giving this wine a strong backbone of ripe fruit characters. The wine is a bright dense cherry red with a tinge of brick red.The bouquet exhibits lifted spicy ripe fruit and light earthy plummy Shiraz aromas, combined with soft vanillin oak characters. Full bodied, the length of the palate is filled with very youthful plummy spicy Shiraz flavours. These fruit characters are balanced by drying oak tannins which contribute both complexity and length to the wine. With a finish that is typical of cold climate Shiraz fruit crisp, clean and elegant.
