Long Shadows Sequel Syrah
Deeply concentrated with vibrant aromas and flavours of dark cherries, wild blackberries, smoked meats and spicy oak. A rich layer of silky tannins coat the palate without overshadowing the wine's bright and lively character. Founded by Washington wine pioneer Allen Shoup, Long Shadows is a collection of ultra-premium wines created by internationally acclaimed winemakers from the major wine regions of the world. Each winemaker is a part owner in this unique winery dedicated to producing individual wines that showcase the viticultural excellence of Washington State's Columbia Valley. John Duval, formerly of Australia's iconic Penfold's Grange, chose the Columbia Valley as his Sequel for the continuation of his life's work with Syrah
Te Mata Estate Bullnose Syrah
Displaying a deep magenta colour, this Bullnose Syrah gives off lifted fragrances of violets, allspice, berry fruit and dark star anise from its nose. The ripe and fruity palate contains flavours of cherry, espresso and raspberry that mesh harmoniously with the smooth and velvety tannins to produce a dazzling, fresh and easy drinking wine. Slow roasted BBQ pork, smoked seitan steaks and spicy Asian dishes are some great accompaniments to this mouth-watering Syrah.
Mr Riggs Piebald Syrah
This wine, a Piebald, meaning black and white, is a co-fermentation of the blackest Syrah grapes, with a hatful of the purest white Viognier. Deep in colour, the wine is almost black, yet is also vibrant and bright. The nose is perfumed with apricots, spice and liquorice; a pretty, fragrant wine with a sweet juice and velvety palate. The finish is elegant with savoury spice and a fine tannin length and persistence.
