Handcrafting Wines from the Longbottom family vineyards in Padthaway, South Australia, we show admiration for the 19th century mail coach service that once drove through our property. A Pillar Box is a mail box from that same era.

The shiraz is an intense fruit driven wine with abundant bright black fruit flavours and a rich round pallet. Lingering dark red fruit, spice and subtle oak completes this shiraz that is ready for immediate enjoyment and will continue to improve over the next 10 years.

The Limestone Coast region encompasses some of Australia's most revered viticultural land and, without fail, produces reds with both voluptuous fruit and great structure. This Gold medal-winning 2024 vintage is no exception, showing off immense power and concentration. The Ravensthorpe Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon brings together flavours of cassis, blackberry and a hint of the region's eucalypts with well-integrated toasty oak characters. A great wine to share with a hearty meal, and with careful cellaring it will continue to improve over the next 4-6 years.

With careful cellaring, this Jacob's Creek Classic Cabernet Sauvignon has developed into a beautifully balanced and elegant red. The vibrant crimson and purple hues have mellowed slightly, while the aromas of blackcurrant and cedar spice have deepened, now joined by subtle earthy and tobacco notes. On the palate, the dark berry and cherry flavours are smoother and more integrated, with the once-tight tannins now rounded and refined. The finish remains long and satisfying. A classic Cabernet that now shines with added depth—perfect alongside roast lamb or a rich beef dish.

A moderately warm and early spring brought flowering on earlier than the long term average. Gentle slow ripening from summer months without extreme heat allowed for gradual ripening of tannins while retaining high levels of natural acidity in the fruit. Perfect for Cabernet Sauvignon. The fruit from the 20121 ‘Sfera’ Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested from our Block 5 Cab Sauv. Machine harvested at night to retain freshness, before haulage to the winery. For us ‘oxygen’ is a bad word while in the winery. Only small amounts of gentle pumping over was needed for the 2021 year as the colour and tannin were already present from the vineyard. Pressing of skins took place on day 6 and the wine was transferred to stainless tanks. The 2021 Cabernet has hints of spearmint, dark chocolate and classic cigar box. Gliding tannin’s will see this wine sit in the tomb for many years to come. Pair with smelly cheeses or another bottle.

A fruit driven mid palate is laden with red cherry, plums and raspberries. The wine has a long, crisp and refreshing finish due to the Cabernets firm and youthful grape tannin framed with elegant and spicy oak. A great drinking wine of complexity and substance.

This wine is a celebration of Grant Burge as a 5th generation Barossa vigneron. This rich Cabernet Merlot has concentrated redcurrant and dark plum flavours, supported by fine tannins and spicy oak. The refined structure of this wine makes it a great match with a wide range of dishes including barbequed meats and hearty tomato dishes.
