Burn Cottage Vineyard Moonlight Race Pinot Noir. A myriad of mulberry, wild thyme and enticing savoury undertones are interwoven with layers of ripe summer berries. The palate displays both generosity and restraint, with plump and supple tannins that are supported by an amalgam of summer ripened plums, dark cherry and a freshness reminiscent of ripe red fruits. The finish is long, the wine showing lovely fruit purity and definition.

Based in Nuits-St-Georges, the famous Domaine Faiveley was founded in 1825 and in more recent times, the domaine has greatly expanded its vineyards across the entire Côte d'Or. The grapes are entirely destemmed and fermented in a mix of new wooden vats for the top end wines and stainless steel for the lesser cuvées. This Pinot noir has a beautiful ruby colour. It has pleasant, fresh, red-fruit aromas on the nose, which we find again on the palate. It has rich and very ripe substance, with fine round tannins. It's a very well-structured and pleasing wine.

Many class Ata Rangi as the quintessential 'New World' Pinot Noir, the best example of the variety outside of Burgundy. It's hard to argue when you let the supple, dark berry and spiced fruit pass your lips. Considered 'Grand Cru' in New Zealand, Ata Rangi was awarded the inaugural Tipuranga Teitei o Aotearoa classification, cementing its pedigree.

Jerome Galeyrand is a relative newcomer to Burgundy - known for his passion and minimal interventionalist work in both vineyard and cellar. This is his entry-level offering. Burgundy is renowned for producing some of the most elegant and sought after wines of the world. Spread over 230km with 50,000 ha of vineyards and over 110 different appellations, the region resembles a veritable patchwork quilt of vineyards. The principal grape varieties of the region are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Gamay. Burgundys climate is northern continental, ranging from cool marginal conditions in Chablis in the north to the warm climate of Beaujolais on its southern boundary. The classic Burgundy wines come from the central part of the region known as the Côte dOr. Burgundy has a hierarchical classification system based on the quality of the vineyard site. The best vineyards are Grand Cru and are usually located on the slopes with the most favourable aspect and soils. Premier Cru (1er Cru), Village and generic Bourgogne wines follow in descending order. There are 30 Grand Cru vineyards mostly located in the Côte dOr and over 560 Premier Cru sites.

Subtle aromas of rhubarb, violets, earth, chervil, mace, leather, pencil shavings & cocoa nib with a stemmy note contributed by fermention with stalks. The composed elegant palate exhibits strawberry, tamarind & peach stone tartness from ingrained natural acidity, softly spreading fruit weight & sweeping talc-like tannins.
