Louis Latour's Saint-Véran is a wonderful example of the fresh Maconnais style displaying a light yellow colour and a bouquet of musk and toasty brioche aromas. On the palate, this bargain French Chardonnay is rich and powerful yet still with a lively, fresh finish. Going through complete malolactic fermentation in stainless steel vats, this southern Burgundian white is the perfect balance for brightness and complexity.

This Bourgogne Blanc comes from parcels situated exclusively within the Meursault commune and bordering the land classified as Appellation Meursault Villages. The soil is a clay limestone mix and the subsoil is gravel. As with our Villages and Premiers Crus parcels, the soil is ploughed and partially grassed. The wine-making and maturing processes are identical to those of our Villages and Premiers Crus wines.

Complex and layered with wonderful fruit purity, Yabby Lake Single Vineyard Chardonnay is a finely structured, tightly honed style. The fruit is a hand-picked field blend of different clones. Each parcel is vinified separately and is pressed into tight grain large French oak puncheons for wild yeast fermentation. Eleven months maturation on lees imparts attractive nutty complexity.

The aspiration of Oakridge LVS -- or Local Vineyard Series -- wines is to be outstanding expressions of single vineyards within the Yarra Valley. Local Vineyard Series wines enable wine lovers to compare and contrast the power of terroir and geography in winemaking. In essence, different grape varieties thrive in different soils, and Yarra Valley terroirs and altitudes vary widely. Oakridges expertise and understanding of the region allows viticulturists and winemakers to match a particular variety with a particular site -- with marvellous results. Almost all LVS wines are cellarworthy. The Willowlake Vineyard is just outside Gladysdale in Victorias Upper Yarra Valley. Planted in 1979 at an elevation 300 metres, the cool-grown Chardonnay here ranks with the regions very best. Add the skills of leading Chardonnay exponent David Bicknell and these hand-picked grapes become wines that express their variety and origin with consummate precision and flair.

Brilliant straw with green edges. Nuttiness and delicate stone fruit. Peach and grapefruit, with fresh balanced natural acidic finish giving layers of textural complexity. The fruit was handpicked, chilled and whole bunch pressed to allow gentle extraction. The juice was transferred directly into French oak barrels and fermented with a mix of natural (wild) yeast and selected yeast strains to provide complexity. No MLF to retain natural acidity and freshness. Post-fermentation the lees were stirred gently once a week until the balance between oak, lees characters and fruit characters was achieved. The origin of Rockcliffe was an 18 acre expanse of apple orchards planted early in the 1900s in the rich Scotsdale Valley region of Denmark in the Great Southern, Western Australia. In the late 1980s, a local family acquired the property for its fertile soils and position for long afternoon sunshine with cool ocean breezes. It was christened Matildas Meadow and the planting of dry grown vines commenced. The Pinot and Chardonnay vines were the first planted in the district in 1987. Our brands reflect our love of the Ocean and how important it is to the vineyard.
