2015 ’Pantelis’ Cabernet Sauvignon The Pantelis Cabernet Sauvignon is our signature wine and bears the name of the family patriarch. Pantelis Zachopoulos (1927-1998) immigrated to Australia from Greece in 1966 with his wife Olga and four children. His diverse agricultural knowledge was passed onto his children Michael, Nicholas and myself [Zissis]. In 1998 a few months before his passing we purchased and began establishing our vineyard in the Barossa Ranges. I decided to make this wine in his honor as a token of our appreciation for everything he has taught us. The wine has dark rich fruits, plum and blackcurrant with a touch of typical Cabernet herbaceousness on the nose. The palate is long and full with lovely dark chocolate, Mocca and cassis favours.

Hentley Farm The Marl Cabernet Sauvignon reinforces the elegance and complexity of the expressions produced under this winery. The name comes from the carbonate mineral rich soil, Marl, which the fruit is grown on. It has good water and nutrient retention. As a result, grapes has richer and bolder flavours. A true artisan, Marco is the custodian of some of oldest Grenache vines in the world and remarkably he tends to each of the old, gnarly bush vines by hand, some standing 6-feet tall!
