Paolo Scavino Barolo DOCG

Our Barolo comes from the best plots of seven cru. The diversity of soils, exposure and altitude characterises each of these small but very important terroir. Unifying these diversities, the Barolo offers harmony and complexity with an overall character of the zone. Paolo Scavino owns 29 hectares entirely in the Barolo area and works on 20 Barolo historical crus located in Castiglione Falletto, Barolo, La Morra, Novello, Serralunga d'Alba, Verduno and Roddi. The Scavino family distinguishes itself from the beginning by their scrupulous care of the vineyards and passion for terroir. Their core beliefs is the supremacy of the viticulture above the oenology therefore the focus is the care of the vines in order to grow ripe and healthy grapes. In winemaking minimal and equal intervention are sought, to preserve natural diversities, terroir.

Paolo Scavino Barolo 'Ravera' DOCG

Brilliant ruby to garnet red in colour. Among the aromatics we recognise rose hip, violet, iodate perfumes, ashes, tobacco, white peaches, red cherries, balsamic elements such as fresh mint to name some. On the palate it's full on energy and all about freshness and finesse. The acidity is sharp, the tannins have a beautiful tension yet they are harmonious in the structure. Robert Sarotto Audace Barolo

Obtained from Nebbiolo grapes grown in Barolo and Novello vineyards. Aged in oak barrels as long as necessary according to the vintage. A really great full – bodied wine, complex and seductive on the nose, rich and soft on the palate. It is full of character and vigour, yet delicate, elegant, harmonious, with hints of wood and almonds and clear-cut tannins. A wine for cellaring, but also great to drink when released.

Albino Rocca Barbaresco

The Estate produces just 900 cases of this succulent, dark cherry and anise-scented Barbaresco. Like all of the Rocca family's Barbaresco, this is a single cru wine. It hails from a south facing, single site in a cru called Montersino (in the Treiso commune). One day it may well be labelled according to its cru. The altitude here is 310 metres and the soil is a mixture of clay and limestone. It's 100 per cent Nebbiolo of course, from another super vintage, and matured exclusively in large, 20 hectolitre, Austrian coopered Botti for two years. Succulent, pure and meticulously crafted, there is a wonderful core of dark cherry, lavender and tobacco scented fruit and fine structure to balance the fleshy texture. Nebbiolo in all its atmospheric glory.
