Miraval Studio by Miraval Vermentino
Studio by Miraval Vermentino is the latest release from the Brangelina stable. While Hollywood brings the razzle-dazzle reputation, Miraval is one of the worlds most authentic celebrity wine brands. Actor Brad Pitt once dreamed of becoming an architect and his enthusiasm for precision and aesthetic beauty are encapsulated by this tremendously impactful vermentino. By partnering with the Perrin Family, he found kindred souls who could use their considerable experience to farm and vinify expressive wines that stood for something. Although Miraval is based in the ancient village of Correns in Provence its - Studio de Miraval - derives from more widely sourced fruit. This neatly reflects the story of the estates recording studio which has hosted many famous rock bands including Australias AC/DC and Pink Floyd. Vermentino (also known as Rolle) is prolifically grown amongst the pine trees and olive groves along the French Riviera. The warm growing conditions and proximity to the Mediterranean Sea allow these grapes to accumulate plenty of flavour and aromatic freshness. The wine is cool vinified to promote clarity and varietal definition. Battonage (lees-stirring) is practiced achieving roundness and texture. The Studio de Miraval Vermentino is a reference style with intense pear, lime, white apricot, tonic water aromas, ripe generous flavours, attractive mid-palate creaminess, attractive bitter-sweet notes and fine minerally acidity. This is a delicious summer wine that can be enjoyed on all occasions especially with friends over a meal. Pair with salmon, pork fennel sausages, roasted vegetables, tomato salads or soft and hard cheeses.
Beau-Charmois Pinot Noir
As the name suggests, Beau-Charmois comes from the word "charm", which expresses the seductive nature of this wine. Selected from premium vineyard blocks on limetone soils in the Pays d'Oc, close to the Pyreneen mountain slopes. This vineyard is strongly influenced by refreshing breezes and warm sunshine, creating one of the longest growing seasons in the Languedoc region. This exceptional climate and geographical location are a paradise for this world-class varietal. Deep crimson in appearance, with plumy fruit and spicy notes of clove, strawberries and cream, and sweet dark cherries. On the palate it is fresh and juicy with a rich mid-palate and velvety tannins. A very well balanced, fruit-forward Pinot. A crowd-pleaser.
