The Great Western region lends itself well to producing exceptional Riesling – its diurnal weather patterns (warm days / cold nights) work well for the varietal. Grown on the sandy loams of the Concongella Creek and the Rhymney Vineyard sites, and occasionally from selected local vineyards, Best's Riesling shows the intensity and finesse which are hallmarks of the Great Western region. The wine is made to show true varietal characteristics, achieved by letting the pristine fruit shine above all else. And while made to drink now, it will definitely age for many years to come. We can testify that Best's Great Western Rieslings from the 1970s are drinking superbly now!

The colour of gold struck through with green, this Riesling shows classic lime and mineral aromas with a touch of gooseberry. Rich and full-bodied, the citrus and tropical fruit flavours are underpinned by crisp acidity.

The vines for this classic, cool climate Riesling date back to the early 70's. Combined with high altitude and the granite soils, this is a wine of rare purity and depth of flavour.

Intensely aromatic, showing white flowers, jasmine and fragrant lime. Tightly wound acidity underpins an incredible purity of fruit with fresh finger lime and lemon curd notes. Fine phenolic structure and wet stone minerality provide drive and a crisp, dry finish with great length.

This year it's Riesling's turn to shine and no one is doing a better, zestier wine than Taylors. St Andrews Riesling is a true labour of love that is hand-crafted from individually selected parcels of fruit that are grown on the family estate vineyards. This particular Clare Riesling vintage is still tight and restrained with a linear focus to the palate and purity of fruit flavours. There are lashings of fresh lemon/lime juice characters up front and a slate-like minerality across the mid-palate. It is backed up by a persistent and refreshing lime acid finish.

Conceived as a white wine development program, the Bin 51 Riesling soon became one of Penfolds' star performers. Eden Valley is an obvious choice of region for Riesling due to the higher altitude and cool climate. The wine offers delicate aromas of fresh cut apples and pears with a twist of lemon and minerality towards the end. A great deal of fruits and acidity makes for an interesting white wine with propensity to age gracefully if carefully cellared.
