The Adelina vineyards are situated in Spring Farm Valley, just south of the township of Clare. Hand-picked, the Estate Shiraz fruit is detemmed and mildly crushed, fermentation and maceration occurs over approx 35 days and the wine is pressed to barrel for malo and maturation.

In 1964 Jim Barry purchased 28ha of prime vineyard land in the Armagh district from Duncan McRae Wood. Shiraz was the first variety planted, and the McRae Wood property was the foundation of Barrys red wine production. The McRae Wood Shiraz in an unabashedly bold Clare Valley red thats big with plenty of oaky backbone. Black and red forest fruits (think cherry and plum) with a touch of vanilla and spice, its incredibly concentrated with a long, pleasing finish.
