Kilikanoon Baroota Reserve Shiraz

Stonehaven Limited Release Robe Shiraz

From the small sub region of South Australia's Limestone Coast called Robe. This is "most attractive juicy, medium-bodied style with layers of flavours ranging through blackberry, tar, licorice and plum, then a farewell of dark chocolate. Finesse and elegance are its calling cards. 95pts” James Halliday. Ken Gargett, Wine Pilot adds that it is "plush, finely balanced with a good flick of acidity". It boasts Gold, 96pts, 95pts and a Special Value star.

L'Épiphanie de Pauillac

Sorby Adams Jellicoe Eden Valley Riesling

Pristine and youthfully elegant with green apple, lemon/lime peel and floral nuances, its brilliantly focused and linear offering terrific fruit purity and poise. Superbly structured by vibrant acidity, finishing refined and impressively lingering. At its best: 2024 to 2036.

Peter Lehmann Margaret Barossa Valley Semillon

This beautifully mature 2017, has a Top Gold, 7 Golds and 96pts from Halliday. "Peter Lehmann's Margaret Semillon provides complex drinking and a length of flavour that many producers aspire to. It's a regional classic, and rightly so", as Dave Brooks writes in The Halliday Wine Companion, "All lemon butter spread on freshly toasted brioche with hints of soft spice, marzipan, wildflowers, crushed stone and drying fields. Dry, savoury, long and compelling. Some crustaceans and some of this and you are in a very good place. 96pts. Great Value.”

Peter Lehmann Stonewell Shiraz

Langton's Classification: Outstanding

One of the benchmarks of Barossa Shiraz, Peter Lehmann's Stonewell is a classic example of the rich concentrated old vine style. While bold on the palate, there is always an inherent complexity to the Stonewell that enables it to be compared with all of the great Australian wines produced today.

The Great Bonza Reserve Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon

It's made by the talented John Quarisa, who has enjoyed a “distinguished career as a winemaker spanning over 20 years” (Halliday). John likes his wines to express big personality and juicy fruit and value for money – he’s certainly achieved that here! Ripe and round blackberries conspire with flavours of plum and cinnamon spice. On the palate, rich red berries and brewed coffee make for a very appealing wine.

The Holdings Syrah Malbec

This luscious red comes from Zuccardi - an outstanding, third generation family cellar founded in the 1960s by Don Alberto Zuccardi. A decade before, he'd started an irrigation company, then planted a vineyard to demonstrate to other producers how his system could benefit grape quality. The rest, as they say, is history, and Zuccardi have become one of the leading cellars in Mendoza. Today his grandson Sebastián is winemaker, assisted by Rubén Ruffo. This is a silky, elegant red, with Syrah adding spicy red fruits and structure to Malbec's darker velvety berry notes. Recommended with chilli, a beef stir-fry or on its own.

Allegiance Wines Kindred Sauvignon Blanc

In the glass: Pale lemon straw. On the nose: Epressive green apple, passionfruit and lime.On the palate: Dry and generous with a mix of gooseberry, grapefruit and guava, creamy texture and crisp acidity.

Mountadam Vineyards High Eden 'The Red' Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz

Usually Mountadama's 'The Red' is a Cab Merlot blend, but in 2018 the switch was made from Merlot to Shiraz as the secondary varietal component. "At this level of ripeness and generosity, the switch from merlot to shiraz is surprising, bolstering mid-palate density. The integrity of this cool site triumphs in the end, with crunchy blackcurrant fruit, fine-grained tannins and gentle acidity holding impressive line and length.” Tyson Stelzer, The Halliday Wine Companion. Sam Kim is a fan too, calling it "Wonderfully ripe and enticing..." 94pts.
