Widely recognised as one of Australia’s finest cool climate Rieslings.The stony granite soils, high altitude and cool night temperatures impress the fruit of these 45 year-old Riesling vines with a special refinement and persistence of flavour. These qualities are nurtured through hand harvesting and gentle winemaking techniques to mold a style renowned for its definitive varietal expression, fine natural acidity and the ability to age, gaining even greater complexity with time.

This gorgeously refreshing white is made by the talented John Quarisa, who – aside from winning a coveted Jimmy Watson Trophy – has enjoyed a “distinguished career as a winemaker spanning over 20 years” (Halliday). John likes his wines to express big personality, juicy fruit and value for money. They also have a magic knack of winning Gold – often several times over! Mouthwateringly fresh and bursting with citrus. Lemon and lime run across the palate, with subtle green apple hints. This Gold winner would happily pair with a platter of fresh prawns.

This dazzling riff on Frankland River Riesling is drawn from hand-selected fruit from two of Swinney’s oldest blocks. Vibrant kumquat and mandarin orange aromas with a touch of basil. Sleek, crisp and focused with tons of stony energy driving the long, precise finish.

Founded by Steve Planthaber, originally from Adelaide but post school left for the South Island of New Zealand. A move to Marlborough with his partner Kirsty Sutherland cemented his love for all things wine. Hard not to be inspired when meeting the Sutherland’s who were one of the pioneers of viticulture in the region, part of the original success of Cloudy Bay followed by establishing their own estate Dog Point. Steve was keen to find his own path and after 12 years running the production and operations at Cloudy Bay decided to begin his own wine brand, Settlement. Settlement, named after the stunning Amphitheatre single vineyard site in the Omaka Valley, is dedicated entirely to the production of organic, old vine single vineyard expressions of very special sites in Marlborough. Planted in 1997 the Ashmore vineyard is located in the southern end Wairau Valley hence why it has a soil type reflecting the signature of the Southern Valleys, with silt loam soils overlying clay Although the vineyard has irrigation it’s never used, simply due to the now established 23 year old plantings and terrior. Hand-picked, whole bunch pressed to tank. Marlborough of course produces wines with naturally very high acidity (in this case a PH of 2.88) and with this in mind Steve was keen to balance this in the Riesling, finishing the ferment early to retain some residual sugar,15 grams to be exact. 12 months in bottle before release.

The grapes used to produce The Powerhouse Riesling were hand-picked from the vineyards nestled on the river banks of Hobart, Tasmania. With the first Riesling vines planted in 1992, the grapes used to produce this outstanding Roesling were hand picked on four seperate picking days for different flavour profilies. Dry in style and pale straw colour, the bouquet displays aromatics tones of mandarin, lime and honeysuckle. The palate exhibitis citrus, sherbet and chalky phenolics with a bright acid finish, this wine is a perfect balance between acid and fruit. It can be cellared for up to 20 years and matches well with delicate fish, chicken or Asian dishes. Vegan friendly.

The Oldbury Riesling was crafted exclusively with grapes from our high-altitude vineyards. This classy Riesling represents the essence of cool climate wines showing aromas of orange blossoms, grapefruit, flinty whiffs, fresh herbs, honeysuckle, and a delicate mineral finish. This Riesling would be best served with tempura, spicy Thai curries, Cantonese fish and seafood dishes, roasted turkey, and cheeses like ricotta, camembert, and gruyere.

The 2020 Springton Riesling was carefully blended from 3 different blocks within the Avon Brae vineyard. (56% Block 11, 26% Block 10, 19% Block 8) It is bright pale straw and shows tropical fruits and rose petal on the nose. The palate is broad and full with lime over a long line of lemon. An enticing Eden Valley Riesling drinking well now but built to last.
