Miles From Nowhere Best Blocks Margaret River Chardonnay
Miles From Nowhere Margaret River Chardonnay
The philosophy of Miles from Nowhere is based on a passion for seeking out precious pockets of exceptional land and vineyards across the Margaret River region. You can certainly taste the quality of fruit in this generous Chardonnay. It has flavours of crisp nectarine and hints of apricot and lemon curd. The palate is rich and creamy with a tight lemon acidity on the finish.
Corryton Burge Adelaide Hills Chardonnay
Angove Bin 256 Chardonnay
With 130 years of expertise under the family’s belt, Angove have plenty of experience to call upon. In recent years they have been awarded ‘Winery of the Year’ and many medals besides for individual wines. Fourth generation John Angove now heads up the cellar that Dr William Angove started in 1886 near Adelaide (by making award winning brandy – a product they’re still famous for) and, besides championing unusual grapes, John also pioneers modern styles of wine. His 2018 turns its back on the weighty, golden, heavily oaked Chardonnays of last century and embraces bright stone fruit, shot through by lemony brilliance. No wonder this grape is back in favour.
Fox Tales Limestone Coast Chardonnay
Mountadam High Eden Estate Chardonnay
Displays classic Chardonnay characters of white peach, nectarine and fresh figs. The palate is fresh and vibrant with fruit flavours of citrus and white peach. Maturation in French oak provides subtle nutmeg and clove characters on the palate, while a clean slatey acid backbone provides length and structure to the wine. The wine is complex with no single character dominating the wine. The flavour of the wine persists long after it has left the mouth.
Margan White Label Timbervines Hunter Valley Chardonnay
Lange Estate Providence Road Great Southern Chardonnay
From the Lange family estate and vineyard situated in the picturesque Frankland River, tucked away in the far northwestern corner of the Great Southern. “This is a potent Chardonnnay of power and presence. Toasty whiffs with cedar and clove spice, some rich, hazelnut elements, ripe citrus, red apple and rockmelon in tow. The palate similar to the bouquet, bold and spicy, laden with woody seasoning and generous to a tee. In all that, the balance works well” (Halliday).
