Bruichladdich 30 Aged Years Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Product Information: This 30 year old single malt not only celebrates the resurrection of our Victorian distillery but pays homage to the men who laid down this spirit three decades ago. The future of Bruichladdich was uncertain in the early 1990s. From the brink of permanent closure to now the largest private employer on Islay, Bruichladdich Distillery and the local community has slowly rebuilt and flourished over the past three decades – all while this spirit has quietly matured. The Bruichladdich Thirty has spent the entirety of its maturation life in handpicked, exceptionally rare ex-Bourbon casks. A limited and refined single malt Scotch whisky, The Bruichladdich Thirty is bottled at 43% bringing the sweetness of toasted oak, honey and soft vanilla to the fore. Delicate yet complex, a hint of dark chocolate complements the spirit’s elegant floral profile while the gentle influence of sea air lingers – a subtle nod to the whisky’s all Islay maturation. Maker: Unlike its neighbouring distilleries from the island of Islay, the Bruichladdich range is made without peat. Without the influence of smoke, the intention is to expose the brilliance of their raw ingredient – barley. Stepping further outside of whisky tradition, Bruichladdich traces ingredients from origin to bottling, embracing every growing season, the subtlety of changing barley varietals and the methods applied in growing them. Patient and purposeful in the distilling process; there's a slow fermentation in wooden washbacks stage, trickle distillation through tall, narrow necked stills before filling this 100% Scottish barley distilled spirit into an ever-evolving suite of top quality casks. All drams are bottled unchill-filtered and without colouring and using only Islay spring water. For over two decades now, their warehouses have stowed these high provenance single malts, safe guarding the quality of the ageing Bruichladdich stocks made by a previous generation of distillers. What started as a pursuit of flavour, bringing terroir to whisky, has evolved into a deep understanding of how whisky and agriculture are intrinsically linked. The journey has taught them how whisky can be a force for positive change, as they continue to reconnect land, community and dram. Philosophy: Since Bruichladdich’s resurrection in 2001, their ambitions have gone beyond the simple idea of making and selling single malt scotch whisky. The goal was to be an antidote to the industry norm. They set a course to become pioneers, provocateurs and change makers. Reconnecting the land and the dram, re-evaluating the prescribed ‘rules’ of the industry, questioning where flavour comes from and understanding why agricultural ecosystems are important. This was a journey that would go on to inspire an army of distillers and drinkers across the world. As Bruichladdich continued on this path, they discovered that the more they learn, the more they needed to do. Today, their commitments to people and the planet grow stronger, ensuring the business is a force for good. With their empowered team, they pursue this bigger purpose and maintain our mission to create the most thought-provoking spirits possible. As Progressive Hebridean Distillers, they hope their actions will stimulate other entrepreneurial start-ups to emerge on our island home and further afield, each one adding richness and diversity, paving the way for an increasingly dynamic and self-sufficient future. Nose - Coconut, Brazil Nuts, Geranium The gentle influence of oak opens on the nose, bringing notes of coconut, wild gorse flowers, Brazil nuts and a hint of vanilla. Subtle floral notes of geranium and rose are paired with pear drops and candied lemons, with soft spices and a whisper of cinnamon complementing Bruichladdich’s signature maritime character Palate - Toasted Oak, Honey, Leather The delicate sweetness of toasted oak comes to the fore, followed by light fruits, honey, fudge and a hint of leather. The gentle floral profile opens with time, revealing an immense depth of flavour. The American oak shapes the softness of the flavour, with the delicate salty tang of fresh Islay sea air unmistakable on the palate. Finish - Sea Salt, Vanilla, Warm Oak The spirit’s all-Islay maturation has a significant influence on the finish, with a vibrant tang of sea salt balanced with warm oak, while soft vanilla and sweet coconut lingers.

In 1898, John Duff built the Speyside Distillery, BenRiach. It is one of the few distilleries with its own on-site floor malting and draws its water from the Burnside Springs. The Dalmore 25 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

The Dalmore distillery was founded by Alexander Matheson in 1839, a merchant adventurer determined to create an exceptional single malt whisky. In 1867, descendants of Clan Mackenzie took control of the distillery. One of their first changes was to adorn every bottle of The Dalmore with the stag – a guarantee of peerless quality. The 12-point Royal Stag proudly adorns each bottle of The Dalmore, encapsulating the distillery’s regal legacy, dating back to 1263. The emblem was bestowed upon Colin of Kintail, the first chieftain of Clan Mackenzie, after he saved the life of King Alexander III of Scotland from the fury of a charging stag. The idiosyncratic collection of stills at the distillery creates a unique new make spirit – robust and fruity, particularly well-suited for longer and more complex maturation. This allows the whisky makers to ensure each cask of spirit reaches its full potential. Richard Paterson, a pioneer in the art of cask curation, was the creative force behind The Dalmore for nearly five decades. He lit the way for current Master Whisky Maker Gregg Glass who continues an unbroken chain of visionary whisky makers, always pushing boundaries to mature the spirit in the rarest and most exalted of casks. Hand selected casks, from the world's finest bodegas and wineries are expertly curated to create a sumptuous and layered whisky of legendary finesse. The Dalmore 25 Year Old was first introduced in 2013, following the distillery's tradition of being matured in an extensive selection of casks, The spirts for the Dalmore 25 was initially aged in American white oak, before being hand-divided into 25 year old Palomino Fino sherry butts and first-fill bourbon casks. After these two steps the whiskies are married in carefully selected bourbon barrels before before finished in Tawny Port pipes from Portugal. The nose is full of aromatic exotic fruits, citrus, vanilla pods, treacle toffee and fig cake. On the palate are flavours of Madagascan vanilla pods, thick treacle toffee and chocolate truffles with a finish of maple syrup, dark chocolate and spiced gingerbread.

The Glendronach Strength Batch 10 Single Malt Scotch Whisky

The GlenDronach is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland, creating their finest richly sherried single malts for nearly 200 years. Located near Forgue, by Huntly, Aberdeenshire, in the Highland whisky district, has a rich and storied history that begins back in 1771 when the Glen House, originally called Boynsmill, was built. It was later renamed by James Allardice when the distillery was founded in 1826, making it one of the first licensed distilleries in Scotland. Throughout the years, the distillery changed ownership several times, with notable moments including being bought over by Walter Scott in the 1830s, becoming the largest duty paying distillery in the Scottish Highlands in the 1860s and being acquired by Captain Charles Grant in 1920. In 1960, the distillery was purchased by William Teacher & Sons, who expanded the number of stills from two to four. However, in 1996, the distillery was mothballed for a period of time before being re-opened in 2002. The ownership changed hands again in 2005 when Chivas Brothers took over and the distillery converted to steam heating, marking a significant shift in its production process. In 2008, the distillery was taken over by the BenRiach Distillery Company Ltd., marking a significant milestone in its history. This acquisition sparked the beginning of the Glendronach renaissance, bringing new opportunities and developments to the distillery. The year 2015 brought great honour to the BenRiach Distillery Company, with the recognition of being named Global Whisky Distiller of the Year at the Icons of Whisky Awards. This achievement was particularly remarkable for a small privately-owned independent company. In 2016, Brown-Forman Corporation took over, bringing three outstanding Single Malt Scotch Whisky brands – The GlenDronach, BenRiach and Glenglassaugh – into its growing whiskey portfolio. This acquisition marked a significant milestone for the distillery's legacy. At the heart of The Glendronach's craft are time-honoured traditions and handcrafted techniques that have been perfected over nearly two centuries. The distillery's methods, including the use of soft Highland water and Scottish malted barley, reflect a dedication to quality and authenticity. The hallmark of The Glendronach's craft lies in the marriage of robust Highland spirit with the finest Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks from Andalucia in Spain. This exquisite duality brings exceptional depth, complexity and character to the whiskies. The slow and carefully attended process, from milling to distillation to maturation, is a testament to the meticulous craft and dedication of the distillery team. The slow maturation process, overseen by the dedicated distillery team and expertly selected and married by Master Blender Rachel Barrie, results in expressions known worldwide for their exceptional depth, complexity and character. The distillery's focus on the selection and nurture of Spanish oak sherry casks reflects a commitment to creating whiskies of unparalleled quality and flavour. This exclusive edition of Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky underwent maturation in exceptional Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso Sherry casks, sourced directly from Andalucía in Spain. Handpicked by Dr. Rachel Barrie, Scotland's first female Master Blender, these casks were meticulously combined to achieve the ideal blend at a natural cask strength of 58.6% ABV, with no chill filtration and displaying natural colour. This unadulterated cask strength bottling accentuates the complete character and depth of GlenDronach's intricate, full-bodied essence, enhanced by the rich, profound infusion of flavour and natural hue from the Spanish oak Sherry casks: the Pedro Ximénez casks contribute luscious fruit flavors, while the Oloroso casks impart dry, nutty notes.
