This Merlot displays forest fruit and plum characters, dark chocolate flavours in the mouth, with a supple medium weight tannin finish. Being fruit off the older Robert Stein vineyard block that was planted back in 1989 has helped add complexity to this early drinking style.

This Tawny style fortified is a blend of 5 to 12 year old Port, matured in old rum casks to create a rustic and generous style fortified wine. Best served after meals with hard cheese, and around a campfire with friends.

The Semillon portion in Robert Steins blend is fresh and vibrant and with the addition of 12% Sauvignon Blanc adds the tropical citrus fruit, and a nice long dry finish. It is a lively fruit driven wine that demonstrates the synergy between these two varieties.
