Bin 138 draws its inspiration from the wines of Southern Rhône, where shiraz, grenache and mataro (mourvèdre) are blended in varying proportions to create full-bodied wines possessing rich and heady perfume. Each year fruit for Bin 138 is sourced from old Barossa Valley vines (some more than 100 years old).Bright red garnet in colour, with raspberry-leaf and pastille fruits on fruits on the nose supported by discrete hints of boot polish and stewed meats. Penfolds Bin 149 Cabernet Sauvignon seeks out northern hemisphere excellence via meticulous vineyard and block selection, reinforced by flagship-worthy South Australian cabernet sauvignon. Penfolds Quantum Bin 98 is the continuation of a twenty-year endeavor from when Australian vine cuttings were planted in Californian soil. A Wine of the World that encapsulates a bold blending alliance, Quantum reveals a wine that shows wisdom, crafted with conviction but also embedded in the quality-first philosophy that underpins Penfolds flagships. The wine serves as the most powerful expression of Penfolds' blending style and leads the charge in their ambition to seek out parcels of intense flavor, structural tannins and equal parts grace and complexity. Northern and southern hemispheres bring prized cabernet sauvignon from Napa Valley and pedigreed shiraz from South Australia, respectively, into each others realm. Penfolds Max’s Pinot Noir is a tribute to former Chief Winemaker Max Schubert 1948 - 1975, a legend in Penfolds history. Max’s constant pursuit of excellence paved the way for those who followed in his footsteps and allowed the status and heritage of Penfolds to grow.

In 2004, similar vintage conditions to the iconic 1962 vintage, inspired Penfolds winemakers to recreate Max Schuberts iconic wine. Cabernet Sauvignon from Block 20, alongside Koonunga Hill and Kalimna Shiraz, were included in the 2004 Penfolds Bin 60A blend.

One Superblend. Two Interpretations. Superblend 802.A and Superblend 802.B represent two unique interpretations of the iconic Australian blend of cabernet sauvignon and shiraz, sourced from unique parcels destined for Penfolds flagships.The Superblend 802.A components were aged separately in new American oak hogsheads for 22 months prior to being blended. This non-vintage Champagne Brut Rosé marks the fourth wine released in Penfolds collaboration series with Champagne House Thiénot. In 2019, we re-ignited our love affair with France, a special place for Penfolds, and announced our inaugural Champagne partnership with Thiénot. Alongside Thiénot, a respected player in the world of Champagne, Penfolds first released three extraordinary Champagnes in 2019: A Chardonnay Pinot Noir Cuvée, and Grand Cru single-vineyard Blanc de Blancs and single-vineyard Blanc de Noirs, all from the exceptional 2012 vintage.
