In this different format, Laurent Ponsot continues to use his experience, his craftsmanship and his passion to serve the terroir of Burgundy. The company Laurent Ponsot is neither a “domain” nor a “maison”: it’s a state of mind. To create an exceptional wine is the equivalent of designing luxury goods. “Haute couture” is how we have decided to describe these incredible wines, like unique designer pieces, made even more glorious through our experience and craftsmanship. This red wine of the Bourgogne appellation is cherry red in colour with deep ruby reflections. A fresh, fruity and lively wine to serve as an aperitif, accompanied by a mixed platter of cold meats and cheeses, a gourmet salad and a warm slice of toast with your own choice of topping.

Laurent Ponsot Clos de Vougeot Cuvée du Cèdre Grand Cru
A blend of fruit from propitiously situated plots, sourced from six different growers, across the largest of all of Burgundys Grand Crus. Intentionally, some are prime real estate, directly behind the château; others, on the lower ebbs of the vineyard. Ponsot sees this as a balancing act. A wine that will only grow in stature with extended patience.

Laurent Ponsot Cuvée de l'Aulne
Cuvée de lAulne Gevrey-Chambertin A blend of grapes purchased from seven or eight growers, across 10 to 12 different communal parcels smattered throughout the village. Again, this is the approach that Ponsot advocates in order to glean the essence of the regional terroir, in this case that of a single lauded village. Red and dark fruit essences mesh with the smoked meat parlayed by Gevreys heavier, ferrous limestone. A richer wine in the context of Burgundy, without the edges and creases that need too much smoothing with time in the cellar. Accessible across the earlier to mid-term.
Laurent Ponsot 1er Cru Cuvée du Myosotis
Meursault-Blagny Cuvée du Myosotis 1er Cru Sourced from the commune of Blagny, legally classified within the confines of Meursault, this is a thrilling wine of strident length, latent power and an alloyed, ball bearing-like precision. It rolls through the mouth, staining the cheeks with riffs on apricot pith, candied lemon rind, dried mango and a toasted melody of assorted nuts. There is plenty of oak sitting on this, boding well for its procession into a long future in the cellar. A Meursault for the ages, in the hands of a master.

Gevrey comes from the word chevriers or goatherds, from the time when the Gauls raised goats on these hillsides today we prefer the vine! Gevrey-Chambertin wines present a firm structure, with delightful velvety tannins, supported by a very finely grained texture, with no hardness. Pleasant to drink when young and fruity, this is however a wine that should be kept for some years, frequently presenting an exceptional capacity to age, and serving as an excellent showcase for the vintages.
