Originally an Apricot Orchard and re planted with Shiraz vines in 1974. Hence the name Apricot Block. Totally opaque black crimson colour. Superb pronounced nose , with flavours of plum., spice and black pepper. The palate is mouth filling flavours of plum, blackberry. pepper and dark chocolate. Fine grained tannins perfectly balanced. Very long aftertaste. of black pepper , plum and blackberry.

A big brooding Barossa wine with endless layers of fruit and oak. The tannins are very well integrated and will continue to develop in years to come. A great example of a true Barossa Shiraz.

Greenock Creek Jaensch Block Shiraz The two parcels are blended to produce a deeply coloured, powerful wine with great ‘flavour drive’ down the palate. The parcel from the lower section produces flavours more in the blue fruit flavour spectrum with silky tannin and gamey/meaty undertones. The structure of wine from the upper section is more intense and savoury spiced. The 2003 Seven Acre Shiraz displays typical flavours of plum, blackberry with slight hints of pepper and dark chocolate. The lacy tannin structure balances the wine tremendously and really reminds you why Greenock Creek are producing some of the world's best wines.
