To create this truly unique whisky, we selectively sourced rare malted rye and the finest malted barley from progressive malt houses, paired them with virgin American oak casks air-dried for 36 months and let it all mature in the maritime air of coastal Sydney. Our preference for malted rye over the far more commonly used unmalted rye affords this whisky a point of distinction evident upon the very first sip. This layered, aromatic spirit offers notes of spiced custard, ginger, stone fruit and baked apple pie with a fresh herbal finish that lingers on the palate.

From the minds and stills of Archie Rose Distilling Co. comes Fundamental Spirits, a new range of 100% Australian vodka, gin and whisky created as an uncommonly easy foundation for your favourite drinks. Introducing True Cut Vodka, a neutral vodka cold distilled with nothing but Australian wheat, local botanicals such as reclaimed orange peel, local apple, native river mint, native local lemon myrtle and triple filtered water. A crisp yet soft nose shows a near-neutral profile with subtle hints of apple skin and fresh orange zest. The wheat base is present with the delicate and creamy aroma of hand-cut oats. The palate is round and oily and offers flavours of marmalade and homemade lemonade. A lingering finish with a compelling combination of fresh citrus and mint. Using pure Australian wheat and twice carbon-filtered Sydney water, our Original Vodka leads with a subtle, natural sweetness followed by crisp apple and mint notes that delicately linger.

Introducing Straight Dry Gin, a new gin from Archie Rose, cold distilled with sustainably sourced local and Australian botanicals including lemon myrtle, reclaimed orange peel and pink peppercorn. Aromas of pine, fresh thyme and orange and the faintest hint of waxy lemon with a strong juniper backbone and subtle floral finish.

This whisky is the result of a happy accident that saw us fill 100 and 200 litre Australian Apera casks with Rye Malt Whisky instead of Single Malt Whisky to create an unexpected but exceptional series of small-batch releases. This combination of Rye Malt Whisky and Apera cask maturation reveals flavours of hazelnut cream, figs, crème brûlée and raisins.

Reinforcing our commitment to Australian grains and local terroir this whisky revisits the flavours of the NSW malt showcased in our first trials and exceptions release, Sandigo Heritage Rye Malt Whisky. It offers bold spice notes including ginger and licroice with a finish of creme brulee.

Harvest Whisky 2019 showcases ancient varieties of unirrigated barley and heirloom rye grown in challenging drought-stricken conditions by the Whytcross family in Barrellan, NSW. Semi-wild fermentation lends this intriguing whisky lifted aromatics of candied orange and peaches, finishing with toasted rye, roasted almonds and mandarin on the palate.

Accident is said to be the greatest of all inventors. When Cellar Hand Mr Goode mistakenly vatted Archie Rose Rye Malt and Single Malt Whiskies together, we happily found that to be true. This marriage of malts is therefore proof that serendipity can make Good(e) Whisk(e)y.
