Introducing Straight Dry Gin, a new gin from Archie Rose, cold distilled with sustainably sourced local and Australian botanicals including lemon myrtle, reclaimed orange peel and pink peppercorn. A complex nose with the evolving aromas of sappy pine, fresh thyme and lime zest and an aroma of freshly zested orange in the background with the faintest hint of waxy lemon. The palate has great precision yet generosity with a strong juniper backbone that is complemented by charred lemon, pineapple and grapefruit. A subtle floral character extends into the finish but is overcome by the pervasive juniper which pushes out into a long, dry and satisfying conclusion. Archie Rose Double Malt Whisky showcases the bright, grassy fruitiness of malted rye backed up by rich aromas of Aussie fortified wine, vanilla from American oak and the smooth sweetness of local malted barley. The result is a remarkably complex whisky with notes of apricot jam smeared on toasted rye bread, fragrant oak and a hint of milk chocolate, finishing with honey-roasted macadamia nuts, ripe tropical fruits and baking spices.

Crafted from sustainably sourced, farm grown heritage rye and barley malts grown in red earth under the deep blue skies of the Australian bush, this locally made and grown whisky boasts a bold yet refined personality. Complemented by maturation in French and American oak casks, the palate is smooth, balanced and approachable, revealing notes of vanilla and rich caramel. Archie Rose Rye Malt Whisky
To create this truly unique whisky, we selectively sourced rare malted rye and the finest malted barley from progressive malt houses, paired them with virgin American oak casks air-dried for 36 months and let it all mature in the maritime air of coastal Sydney. Our preference for malted rye over the far more commonly used unmalted rye affords this whisky a point of distinction evident upon the very first sip. This layered, aromatic spirit offers notes of spiced custard, ginger, stone fruit and baked apple pie with a fresh herbal finish that lingers on the palate.

This whisky is the result of a happy accident that saw us fill 100 and 200 litre Australian Apera casks with Rye Malt Whisky instead of Single Malt Whisky to create an unexpected but exceptional series of small-batch releases. This combination of Rye Malt Whisky and Apera cask maturation reveals flavours of hazelnut cream, figs, crème brûlée and raisins.
