Grape variety - Semillon 82%, Chenin Blanc 17%, Chardonnay 1%. Colour - Pale green - straw. Aroma - Fresh and fruit driven, displaying elegant characters of apple, pear, flint and fennel. Direct input from Forester`s viticulturist ensures well balanced canopies and crops are grown for the desired fresh fruit driven style. The 2022 vintage was a mild year for white grapes in Margaret River, allowing plenty of time during January and February to ripen the fruit to our specification. Grapes were harvested at a lower baume to achieve the delicate style. Winemaking - Modern white wine making techniques are employed in the production of the Brut Cuvee, with temperature control considered critical from the moment the fruit reaches the winery. The fruit is destemmed and crushed, then must chilled and pressed off skins in a very short space of time. A long cool fermentation follows, allowing for the retention of the delicate fruit characters in the base wine.

All Cullen Wines are grown on a certified Biodynamic, Carbon Neutral and naturally powered estate. Grapes are harvested by hand on fruit and flower days according to the astrological calendar. The wines have no additions of yeast, acid or malolactic culture, and are in this sense natural wines which express the place and land on which they are grown, the vintage and the people.

The current release of the Fire Gully Sauvignon Blanc Semillon is a superb exampe of the blend. Complex and interesting with fascinating oyster shell aromatics, intense pure white tropical flavours with schisty minerally notes: powerful, vibrand and tangy, finishing fresh and zesty. Howard Park Sauvignon Blanc contains a fragrant nose of snow peas and guava with a little passionfruit which is a precursor to a palate that's juicy and tight with citrus acidity. A barrel fermented component ensures that there is a level of complexity that separates it from its contemporaries.

The Vasse Felix Cane Cut has complex aromas of lemon meringue and ginger nut, with hints of vanilla spice. A lovely viscous, silky mouthfeel provides richness and texture.

Howard Park Leston Cabernet Sauvignon, a wine of good structure and power. Bright red crimson in colour. Red currant fruits, a hint of violets and oak on the nose. This full bodied wine had great elegance on the palate and a lengthy finish. No doubt one of the best example of the region.

A classically racy, punchy Margaret River SBS with exuberant fruit and freshness. The Semillon comes from 20 year old vines rooted in the North Block gravels and sees a small amount (13 per cent) of barrel fermentation. This component supplies some texture to complement the wine's crunchy lime, lemongrass, grapefruit and herbal notes.
