The Margaret River region is well known for its surf and sun but one of its secret wonders is beautiful limestone caves dotting the coastline. Discover this crisp Semillon Sauvignon Blanc with fresh citrus, grass and green apple aromas. Tropical flavours on the palate, balanced by juicy acidity and a medium to long finish.

As in previous years, the Orenji is equal parts Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc sourced from Yungarra vineyard and a site in Rosa Glen. Both vineyards are organically managed. The fruit is hand-harvested in the cool of the morning, and ferments on skins in open fermenters for two weeks. After another eight weeks in a cement egg, the wine is pressed to barrel and egg. It undergoes full malolactic conversion before being bottled with minimal sulphur. No fining, no filtration.

Umamu Estate only releases their wines when theyve had time to develop in the bottle and this Sauvignon Blanc Semillon is drinking beautifully now. In the glass: Beautifully vibrant bright lemon with a still-youthful green tint. On the nose: Lifted mix of toast and honey development. On the palate: Rich and beautifully developed with a lovely warm core of buttered toast, preserved lemon and lemon curd in a terrifically textured, layered and complex wine. So remarkably fresh and complex.

Pears, stone fruit and citrus gives way to a creamy, nutty middle and fresh acidity to close.

From the Howard Park stable comes this impressive Chardonnay sourced from Margaret River fruit. The Gold Turtle displays opulent honeyed peach flavours with a beguiling texture that lingers on the the palate for what seems like an eternity. The MadFish range by traditional Margaret River producer, Howard Park, is one of great value and regionality. This Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blend is a Western Australian staple with gooseberry flavours along with real citrus zest lift and a cleansing back palate. But it is the complexity in this wine that is truly remarkable and something that isn't often seen in this blend.

The Raconteur is sourced from Carl Linder's 80 year old Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyard located in the Barossa Valley; these old vines are hand harvested and made using traditional techniques by Vinaceous contract winemaker Elena Brooks (Dandelion Vineyards). The wine is matured in oak and selected by Vinaceous Winemakers Mike Kerrigan and Nick Stacy and sent to West Cape Howe Wine (WA) for finishing, fining, blending and bottling by Vinaceous. The Raconteur 'breaks the mold' for Barossa Cabernet; lush, rich and deep purple in colour with bright hues, the aroma leaps from the glass with violets and black berry and mocha notes. Ripe fleshy black currants and cassis complement the overall palate with intensity, weight, structure and texture. Along with lip-smacking tannins and fine oak nuances, the Raconteur can easily be enjoyed on immediate opening or be cellared in the short term.
