This Terre Rouge is a siren song for classic red lovers, an invitation of rich and full flavours, soft spice tannins, sophisticated complexity and refined elegance. This debut Terre Rouge joins the reserve range, a limited edition from select vintages over the years. Handpicked Shiraz fruit was gently crushed and chilled before being fermented in French vats. After 3 days of cold soaking, the juice spent another 14 days on skins with twice-daily hand plunging. We then softly pressed it into French barrels before spending 2 months maturing.

The Glaetzer family have been part of the Barossa winemaking scene since 1888 and now Ben takes over the reigns and produces Shiraz of the utmost intensity and concentration. Named after the ancient Egyptian god Amon-Ra who was the champion of the poor and troubled and was central to personal piety, the temple of Amon-Ra is believed to be the first to plant a vineyard to produce wine for the citizens of the temple. This incarnation is rich, full-bodied and viscous to the palate, yet with sublime oak integration and a balance on the back palate that is quite lifted allowing it to be paired with many meals and a prime candidate for medium to long term cellaring.

Château Latour à is an unclassified producer yet amongst the great crus of the Pomerol appellation. The excellent 1982 vintage has produced a Latour à for the ages. Still retaining structure in its maturity, the nose exerts dark fruits, herbs and subtle spice leading to the elegantly balanced palate.
