In 1999, Guillermo Erickson Sauza decided to bring back the old Sauza family distillery to life. Today he produces Tequila Fortaleza there using 100% stone-milled agave, entirely produced on the estate which lies right in the middle of the town of Tequila. Fortaleza Blanco Tequila is unaged. It has an amazingly soft texture and vegetal sweetness with a long and satisfying finish.

A stubborn, sulphurous single malt, condensed in rusted worm tubs on an inhospitable rocky bluff.

A revelation of the Folle Blanches full complexity and strength of character. A resplendent colour with hints of mahogany. An intense nose of orange preserve, rancio, honey and Madagascan pepper. The enticing power of the attack and the density of flavour on the palate are matched by a growing spiciness which is strong without ever being overwhelming.
