This whisky has been made using a peat from near the ‘Valley of the Giants’ and has been matured in an ex-bourbon American oak cask. Exhibiting spice and floral aromas when neat, a splash of water unleashes malted barley, and intense complex smoky aromas. Limeburners Peated has a full bodied taste and a superb smooth finish. Ichiros Malt Wine Wood Reserve Pure Malt Japanese Whisky from the Ichiro's Malt series, containing whisky from the now closed Hanyu distillery. This whisky was matured, vatted and bottled at the Chichibu distillery. The whisky was finished in French wine casks. The nose has hints of black liquorice, creamy malt, and chocolate orange. The palate boasts oily walnuts, red berry sweetness, and white pepper. The finish lingers with Sherries spices and a little hint of chocolate.

For this limited release 6 Yar Old Single Malt, Akashi initially matured the whisky for five years in Cognac casks, before being finished in a single first-fill white wine cask for at least 10 months. Aromas of white fruits, heather, and jasmine are complemented by hints of oak, citrus, and fresh grass across the palate. Located in the city of Akashi in the Hyogo Prefecture, by the seaside of the Seto Island Sea is the White Oak Distillery. This distillery was founded in 1888 by Eigashima Shuzo and has been producing Sake and Shochu every since. In 1919, Eigashima Shuzo obtained a license to manufacture whisky and when the company moved to their current facilities in 1984, the White Oak Distillery was born.

Not strictly a Japanese whisky, Togouchi source grain whiskies from Scotland & Canada and aged them in Japan. This is a blend from Chugoku Jozo, who mature their whiskies in a tunnel rather than a warehouse. The temperature of the tunnel is always 15 degrees while the temperature of the cellar at the headquarters in Hatsukaichi city is a little higher than that. Nutty, spicy whisky with a lovely butterscotch mouth feel. On the palate it expresses vanilla sweetness and a fine peat iodine, with hazelnuts and chocolate on the finish. Almost feels like a whisky/bourbon hybrid.

The nose is of sweet fruit in the shape of pears and red apples and balanced by distinct citrus, vanilla and muscovado sugar, all surrounded by a veil of smoke. The palate is of soft oak tones and bitter orange with vanilla fudge and ripe pear complemented with a light smoke of peat and juniper. The finish is long with tones of juniper and lime with tobacco leaves and oak.

The Shinobu 15 year old Mizunara Cask Whisky is hand crafted by master distiller, Mr Usami. First matured in ex-Sherry and ex-Bourbon casks, it is then finished in Japanese Mizunara oak. Mizunara is an expensive oak which is hard to craft into barrels, but it imparts incredible flavours on the spirit of Shinobu. This pure malt has been maturing for no less than 15 years which has allowed the spirit to take on some very inspiring characteristics. The result is a unique fusion of flavours and dynamic explosion on the palate yet so smooth and easy to drink. Deep rich in colour and complex in flavour, mellow oak wood aromas lead to flavours of honey and molasses, hints of blueberry and deep tones of the Mizunara oak. The palate has subtle ripe fruit, lemon zest, leather and cinnamon with a hint of sweet malt and aromas of fruity oak barrels.
