DOMAINE ARNAUD AUCOEUR Beaujolais Crus mixed pack

Voted 2020 Winemaker of the Year by the famous “Guide Hachette” in France, Arnaud Aucoeur epitomizes the Beaujolais Gamay revival in the world of wine. From pure Gamay, these wines have freshness with a hint of minerality, ruby-red colour and red berry scents on the nose. The style is bright, packed with berry flavours, with hints of black pepper over a base of ripe tannins. In this pack, you will receive: one bottle of Morgon (90 points, James Suckling), 1 bottle of Moulin à Vent (92 points, Wine Enthusiast), 1 bottle of each Beaujolais Cru : Juliénas, Fleurie , Chiroubles and Saint Amour .

CHATEAU DUChamp de Cour

Chateau du Moulin-à-Vent dates back to 1732 and gave its name to the appellation when it was created in 1936. The estate has 37 hectares of vines across the appellation’s finest terroirs on mostly granitic soils rich in iron oxide, copper and manganese. This is a single-site Gamay from La Rochelle, an elevated, close-planted (10,000 vines per hectare) vineyard at 280m with plantings dating back to the 1950s and earlier.

Château La Mission Haut-Brion Pessac-Léognan

Regarded by many as a candidate for wine of the 2009 Bordeaux vintage. A huge accolade indeed for La Mission Haut-Brion considering the quite phenomenal wines being released. The 2009 can boast a colour that is almost impenetrable and a exciting bouquet of blackberry, truffles and spicy earth. The concentration of the palate is something to behold itself. A vinosity that is hard to find elsewhere, the flavours in the mouth follow on from the nose in nice order, yet the sheer power of the wine quite extraordinary. Layers of flavours continue throughout the palate and continue well into its length. Will no doubt be in short supply as all clamour to get a piece of this Bordeaux masterpiece.

Domaine de La Merize Moulin-a-Vent Beaujolais

Moulin-a-Vent is the most structured and age worthy of the elite ten Crus of Beaujolais. Winemaker Patrick Bertrand makes great examples from this region for the following simple reasons: firstly - the vine age (on average sixty years old), secondly - vineyard location. The vines are situated on various aspects, which provide him with fruit with different flavours and structures.

Domaine Paul Jaboulet Côtes du Rhône Rouge Parallèle 45

This Domaine Paul Jaboulet Côtes du Rhône takes its name from the 45th North parallel which runs two kilometres from the cellars of Maison Paul Jaboulet. Their wine has had this name since the beginning of the 1950s. Elegant and aromatic Grenache blend, with red fruits blended with spices. Well-structured on rounded tannins, with a final spicy note.

Château Leoville-Las-Cases St-Julien

While Chateau Latour might be proximate to the famed Leoville estate, Chateau Leoville-Las-Cases is individually distinguished for its own unique character, and regularly is called the best wine of St-Julien. Classic Las Cases wines show incredible perfume, a result of lower temperature fermentation and an adherence to around three quarters of their barrels being new oak. The 2010 is as always Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, and shows with elegance, finesse and yet a layered complexity that draws the drinker in. Potential for this wine is immense; a life of 30 to 40 years in cellar should be considered.

Chateau Clos Fontaine

Henry Fessy Morgon Beaujolais

Established in 1888 in the heart of an exceptional domain, Henry Fessy is a traditional family-run house renowned for its production of Crus Beaujolais.Morgon is the second largest cru after Brouilly. Here, Gamay produces generous, robust wines which are fruit-forward with notes of cherry, kirsch and apricot. With a good cellaring potential Morgon comes close to a Burgundian Pinot Noir.

Château Domaine De Chevalier Pessac-Léognan

From an estate reputed for its ability to produce exceptional white and red wines, this red offering from 2010 is 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. The Graves producer has the ''ace in the hole'' of noted winemaker-consultant Stephane Derenencourt who has been increasing the quality of the wines through his tenure. The wines have enjoyed a twenty year ascension in the ranks of Bordeaux lovers, noted for their more modest alcohol, medium-bodied nature and freshness of fruit character. Though set to the lighter spectrum, elegance is the calling card in 2010.

Louis Latour Pinot Noir Les Pierres Dorees

The famed house of Louis Latour once again exports its Burgundian know-how outside of the Côte d'Or. After the great successes of Ardèche and Var, they decided to repeat the experience in the heart of Beaujolais with the planting of 20 hectares of Pinot Noir. The calcareous soil rich in iron oxide gives a very particular ochre colour, and the high altitude contributes to produce a surprising wine which associates richness and freshness with a beautiful aromatic complexity.A bright and tempting wine showing a dark garnet colour with an intense nose of blackfruits, blueberry and cherries. There is fullness on the palate with flavors of currant and mocha followed by a fresh finish.
