Amelia Park, although a recent player in the Margaret River Wine scene, have made an astonishing impact. Jeremy Gordon takes a hands on approach to all things at his winery and the results are for everyone to see. Tasting: This is a classy Cabernet blend. Teeming with vibrant blackberries, cassis, violets and dark plum. Cedary oak and hints of spice well integrated with the fruit. Dark fruited, vibrant, classy, yet highly approachable. Incredibly silky and seductive tannins, with subtle mocha notes. Winemaking: Premium Margaret River Cabernet fermented in open-tops and hand-plunged twice each day.The aim of this wine was to promote the juicy fruit flavours of cabernet so we added in a small portion of Blackwood Valley Malbec to help with that.18 months aging in French Barriques before the blend was formulated.Filtered and bottled on-site.

Every now and then we stumble across little gems such as this, that simply scream class and most importantly just delicious drinkability. Master Margaret River winemaker, Cliff Royale, has done it again with this superb new release. The fruit is sourced here from three regional sub districts and matured in old French oak for roughly 12 months. It's a brilliant drink right now, soft in structure with a pristine fruit profile, particularly with the likes of chargrilled lamb chops.

Vibrant in the glass deep purple with bright red edges. The nose is complex and expressive. A mix of red, blue, purple fruits the blend of varieties reflected in the broader spectrum. Oak though present is not imposing itself. Remarkably fragrant. Savoury notes in the tobacco and cedar zone add interest. Complex structure and great length created by the blend of varieties, a wine to try now but also one to cellar.

The juicy grapes used to produce Best Blocks Cabernet Sauvignon were harvested, and crushed into stainless steel fermenters. The juice obtained was pumped over and left on skins. This deep red-hued Cabernet Sauvignon showcases a brick red haze. The aromatic nose flaunts pleasing scents of ripe berries and dry herbs such as aniseed and sage. These fragrances make way for a rich and soft palate filled with concentrated fruit flavours and balanced tannins. This full-bodied Cab Sauv ends in an elegant, yet powerful and long finish. Made for consumption upon release, this mouth watering red wine has the potential to be cellared for six years. It tastes fantastic with mustard and herb crusted rack of lamb, served with sautéed vegetables.
