Left in a sorry state by the previous owners, in 1962 the Rothschilds of Lafite took over the property and begun to reconstruct the vineyard which was planted mostly to Petit Verdot. 4 decades later and the wines of Château Duhart-Milon are now showing the flavour and concentration you expect from such a site in Pauillac.

Though full-bodied, the wine from 2010 will be approachable a little earlier than most other fine Bordeaux, with more moderate tannin - that being said, it's life will stretch several decades too.

The purity of its fruit, the intensity of its flavours and its ageing potential are characteristics of this Killakanoon 1865 Attunga. Shiraz cropping at less than one tonne per acre, the berries were tiny, thick skinned and yielded low levels of extraction from basket pressing after fermentation. Twenty seven months maturation in new French oak hogsheads and bottling the wine unfined and unfiltered has preserved the vineyard's unique terroir and varietal character.

Immensely complex and powerful, this wine is from classic old vine Shiraz from the Barossa. Dense, concentrated fruit characters of blackberry and ripe plum are knotted around delicious vanillin oak.

Originating from the southern Bordeaux region of Pessac-Léognan, Domaine de Chevalier is known for reds that are deep in colour, a nose that is restrained at first, but full of complexity and a palate that has power and length of flavour. Some are of the beleif that their wines are verging on the reputation of Haut-Brion and La Mission ... and with wines like this amazing 2009 it isn't hard to see why. Classic Pessac characters of red currants, cedar and asiatic spices are all in evidence in a wine that isn't the boldest of the vintage, but more classical and restrained. Pure Bordeaux.

Mevi's Barricas del Plata draws on its 100% Malbec, sourced from Maipu in Mendoza Argentina. Grapes are harvested and fermented with tradition. Berry and dark chocolate nose, 13% ABV wine has a supple, ripe red fruity palate.
