Handpicked Regional Selections Yarra Valley Pinot Noir

This is a typical cool climate Yarra Valley Pinot Noir with aromas of cherries and summer berries and hints of spice and oak. The palate is bright with red fruits and soft tannin. This is a versatile wine that will match well with many foods; try it with a charcuterie platter, pizza/pasta and porcini mushrooms or barbecued meats.

Helen & Joey Estate Yarra Valley Layla Pinot Noir

2019 Layla Pinot Noir is reflective of the cooler and later conditions of the 2019 growing season. Warmer years produce a more forward and plush style, the cooler years a more restrained, tightly wound and structured version. The aromatics and flavours of this wine are floral with black cherry, herbs, ferrous minerals and floral notes. It’s light yet complex and seamless. Texturally the Layla Pinot Noir is silken. Layla Pinot Noir is a wine that is quite versatile with food. It marries well with a wide range of vegetable and bird meat dishes, and is totally delicious with aromatic spices such as those associated with mediteranean middle east and north Africa.

Oakridge Wines Yarra Valley Series Pinot Noir

OAKRIDGE WINES Yarra Valley Series Pinot Noir, Yarra Valley A sophisticated introduction to Oakridge’s red wines, the Yarra Valley Series Pinot Noir takes a select blend of fruit from prime vineyards to craft an expressive, delicious wine. Light in body and a crimson red in the glass, pure fruit, spice, and earth mingle to create a lush, energetic, and surprisingly complex Pinot with great Pinosity. A bright acid line makes for a refreshing red and excellent demonstration of David Bicknell’s deft touch.

Wheeler Willowlake Pinot Noir

Slightly hazy semi translucent red colour with a light red hue. Pretty violet, red cherry and strawberry scents carry good aromatic lift out of the glass with notions of clove, forest floor and spicy cedar also evident. Light and vibrant the elegant palate features red cherry and strawberry fruits over a dash of sour cherries, infusions of fresh herbs, clove and subtle forest floor characters. Tangy acidity with polished tannins and a lively red fruited conclusion. Drink over the next 3-4 years. Alc. 12.9%

Fetherston Estate Pinot Noir

Crafted from three premium Yarra Valley sites, combining both MV6 and D2V4 (pommard) Pinot Noir clones. The first parcel was hand-picked on the 20th of February, with the final parcel coming in on the 1st of April. All batches were fermented wild utilising different ratios of whole-bunches, the final blend equating to 25%. Matured in French oak puncheons (30% new), where it saw 10 months élevage prior to bottling.

Fetherston Fungi Pinot Noir

Sourced from a number of Yarra Valley vineyards, fermented in small batches with different treatments (carbonic maceration, partial whole-bunch and whole berry fermentations utilising optical sorting). 67% of the fruit comes from the valley floor and 33% from the Upper Yarra. The final blend equates to 15% whole bunches and 6% new oak, with the residual balance matured in French oak puncheons and barriques from 2nd to 4th fill. The wine saw four months on lees in barrel prior to bottling.

Mac Forbes Yarra Valley Pinot Noir

Mac Forbes philosophy towards pinot is to look after the detail, keep it simple and respect the fruit. The onus is on fruit quality and balance and not on winemaking solutions or corrections. For us winemaking is an extension of the vineyard where we aim to capture the fruit expression and carry this through to bottle. We pick when the fruit is ripe but still crunchy to taste. The Yarra Valley Pinot is a blend of our declassified barrels from each of our single vineyard wines. Their Pinot is rich red cherries, raspberries and subtle oak. A firm structure through the mid-palate with fine gravelly tannins and a layered savoury finish.
