An entitled mouthful of dark currants and blue fruits have a lasting depth all their own, wrapped in a precision poised tannin structure with grip and presence, yet silky throughout. This semi-dry Riesling from Schloss Vollrads is a prime example for the variety. It has an inviting floral bouquet, subtle minerality, and complex fruit focused on flavours of green and yellow apples and Nashi pears. The finish is beautifully balanced, with just the right amount of acid, and stays and stays.

Late harvest styles of dessert wine are more versatile because they remain lighter than their Botrytis brothers. The Bethany shows some delicious sweetness with a lovely tingle of Riesling fruit acid.
