The Matusalem Rum company was started by the Camp brothers in 1872 as a family affair. The "new" Cuban rum rapidly caught on in the world's markets. Today, descendents of the founders produce Ron Matusalem in the Dominican Republic. The brand “Matusalem” was named after the Biblical Patriarch, Methuselah who was said to have lived for 969 years, so symbolising the patient ageing and old world craftsmenship used to give Ron Matusalem Rum its exceptional flavour. The key to Matusalems’s Gran Reserva rum’s complexity is the Solera aging process where various mature rums are carefully blended together.

The El Dorado 15 Year Old is one of the most decorated rums in the distillerys history, including winning the International Wine and Spirit Awards Best Rum in the World an unprecedented 4 times consecutively. It has a full nose packed with dark coffee, candied orange, almonds, dark chocolate, pepper and rich vanilla.

Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva is a blend of 20 per cent light column distilled rums with 80 per cent pot still rums aged up to 12 years, a proportion of which are rums from exceptional barrels which are used in Master Blender Tito Cordero's secret preparation. Although he won't reveal the ages of the rums used he has disclosed that he mixes these exceptional rums with a little cane sugar prior to blending with the main body of rums to amplify their flavour so they impart a slight touch of sweetness and a distinctive flavour to the finished rum.

Santisima Trinidad 15 Year Old Rum is the result of three stages of ageing. Firstly, liquors are aged for at least 4 years before being blended into the base rums. Base rums are distilled from cane sugar and ages for 3, 7 or 25 years. This new 15-year-old rum is further barrel aged, rounding out the profile.Dark amber in appearance with aged, Santisima 15 Year Old has woody notes, toasty nuances and dried fruit aromas. The flavour is long, combining sweetness and a slight bitterness well integrated with almond and walnut flavours.
