Scorpo Bestia Tradizionale Pinot Grigio

Beautiful colour for starters. Deep russet-amber-crimson. Richly autumnal. It all goes from there. Flint, woodsmoke, graphite, potato skins, scorched dry pears, spice notes and no doubt more. Excellent intensity and the length to match. Skin-sy and stalky. A treat in its style.

Jones Road Pinot Gris

Reminiscent of its Alsace homeland, the grapes were given more hang time for richer fruit and higher alcohol, then partial wild yeast fermentation and old-oak maturation for texture and complexity. In the glass: Medium straw.On the nose: Lifted pear, apricot and musk. On the palate: True to the Gris style, its juicy with a gorgeous texture, featuring characters of ripe pear, stonefruit and musk. Mouth-watering acidity leads to a chalky finish.

David Hook Central Ranges Pinot Gris

In the glass: Pale lemon straw.On the nose: Lifted pear and lime juice with a touch of granny smith.On the palate: Tight, dry and savoury with a crisp frame of acidity and a ripe core of white fruit flavours and a crunchy finish. A very appealing example of the Pinot Grigio style.

Airlie Bank Gris On Skins

Picked from a block of gris on the Napoleone Vineyard in the Yarra Valley which is nurtured to hang a touch longer, with better tannin maturity than the fruit picked for the Punt Road Pinot Gris. Whole berry and whole bunch ferments are conducted in isolation in one-tonne open pots. They were pressed separately to oak this year, but in the end both went in their entirety into the blend. The bunch ferments developed a very significant funk this year, and it was good to see this in the finished wine. The berry ferments supply musk flavour and fruit sweetness. Its all about the bunch though: Campari, aniseed and kombucha. Unfined and minimally filtered. The perfect companion in Spring or Summer.

Babo Pinot Grigio

The fruit was entirely hand-harvested and allowed 6 hours skin contact in the press before fermentation was carried out at cool temperatures to maximise fruit expression. This wine shows all the hallmarks of easy-going, classic Italian Pinot Grigio; subtle grapefruit and underlying floral and spice notes on the nose followed by citrus and peach flavours bound together by a tight minerality.

Rob Dolan White Label Pinot Gris

A savoury crisp pinot gris from master wine-maker Rob Dolan out of the Yarra Valley. Classic rose petals, melon, guava pear aromas overflowing from the glass. The finish is savoury and long, making this a wonderful food style wine.
