The Tate family are one of the most famous wine names in Western Australia, especially in Margaret River. It was the Tate family who began Evans & Tate decades ago and today the Tate name is re-born under the Franklin Tate Estates label. Franklin, son of John, has sourced some of the most prestigious vineyard sites in Margaret River and has highly regarded winemaker Rory Clifton-Parks to hand-craft the quality wines, like this traditional Chardonnay.

Red Hill is one of the more popular wineries in Victoria due to their fantastic quality wines are quite brilliantly priced. Their Cool Climate Chardonnay shows great concentration of white peach, nectarine and white flower blossom on the nose. And tropical fruits such as pineapple, honeydew and ripe peach, intergraded with structured acidity on the palate. This wine has a great clean finish. Ideal to drink now or for careful medium-term cellaring.

Ninth Island is a classic Tasmanian Sparkling. Apple and pear dominate the nose that is backed by a balanced yeastiness. The palate has good grip and a dry finish. What a little beauty!

A pale straw colour with vivid green hues. Gunflint, almond and lemon zest characterise the aroma. The wine has a steely edged structure and the mid-palate is filled with white peach and oyster-shell flavours. It draws into a long, spicy finish.

Devil's Lair The Hidden Cave collection was created to showcase the daring and innovative approach to Margaret River winemaking. Oliver Crawford hits the mark beautifully with this Chardonnay that is bursting with Granny Smith apple aromas. In the mouth the wine is a cascading behemoth of white peach and rich nougat.

This delicious sparkling blend of Chardonnay and Semillon has aromas of green apple and sweet pastry, with bright acidity and fresh crunchy fruits on the palate.

The cooler climate in Tasmania has always been an ideal place for Pinot Noir to grow as this variety requires longer ripening periods. Chardonnay on the other hand just thrive the extra time to develop more elegant floral, crisp green apple, citrus flavour and natural acidity. When these two join forces, they become the classic base blend ideal for Sparkling wine. This is well balanced with a dry, refreshing finish.

Created to deliver full bodied and mouth-filling wines, Elephant in the Room gives consumers what they want- quality, flavour and something to talk about. Each wine is sourced from slow-ripening cool climate vineyards and partially matured in French Oak before final blending and bottling by Corey Ryan. Tasting Note This wine is more fuller, richer and rounded than the standard Elephant Chardonnay. It has more oak influence, buttery characters and more complexity. Though fresh, it is heavier on the palate due to the oak and buttery influences. Softer in acidity.
