Malbec is a grape close to Sam's heart. His wife Maria, who works with him, is from Argentina, so perhaps that's not surprising. He also has a passion for th Durif grape and has done for decades. His car licence plate even reads 'DURIF'. What he loves most though is making wines that wine lovers adore. And he has been doing that for years very well indeed. We've worked with him for decades, and this shy, modest man is a simply brilliant at creating wines that show judges - and our customers love! Deep red with a purple hue. Aromas of dark berries and chocolate. Full of striking dark berry flavours that linger on the palate with elegant oak spice and fine tannins providing structure.

A long-standing favourite variety in Bordeaux, malbec does particularly well in Coonawarra. This superb Malbec is deep purple, with powerful aromas of red berries and floral notes. Flavours of plum and sweet blackberry. Finish of ripe, balanced tannins.

The Tasting Panel was extremely impressed by this wine. An excellent example of Malbec, with loads of varietal fruit power yet manages to retain a degree of elegance.Dense crimson black saturation. Immense cola and prune with perfect freshness and ripeness. Dense palate richness with cola and blackberry, mouth-filling chocolatey power, and superb tannin richness and depth. A very well made example of the variety.
