Head Wines was started in 2006 by Alex Head. It focuses on single site Rhône varietals from the Barossa and Eden Valleys in South Australia. Head Red is a barrel cull from Barossa vineyards including 'The Blonde', 'The Brunette' and The Contrarian single vineyard Shiraz wines. It allows a pre-view of the vintage quality to come and keeps the quality of the Single vineyard wines as high as possible. The wine receives 12 months barrel age in predominantly older French hogsheads allowing the vintage and terroir to show clearly. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.

The Langmeil Resurrection Mataro has aromas of bright, blue and jammy fruits, with hints of white pepper and savoury notes. Juicy blue fruits flow over the tongue with white pepper and brambley spice giving great complexity. A medium bodied wine with fine tannin and a lovely, spicy finish.

Exclusive to Dan Murphy's, this flavoursome new single-vineyard Shiraz from the historic estate of Château Tanunda has to be tasted to be believed. Sourced from the higher altitude Barossa region of the Eden Valley, the wine was fully de-stemmed before fermenting on skins for a week without crushing. The result is a complex, velvet-like textured wine with overflowing characters of blueberry, blackcurrant and milk chocolate. Duck Duck Goose Shiraz is a ripping Barossa Shiraz from Blaxland Vineyards who own and manage over 300 hectares of vineyards in the Barossa Valley.
