Coola Road Chardonnay

Coola Road 2015 Chardonnay has elements of subtle French oak and low yields. These elements used in conjunction with the region's cool climate has enabled this medium bodied Chardonnay to retain its attractive and delicate flinty notes and balanced acidity. This wine has a complex nose of lemon and pear with a lasting palate of melon and crispy apple. A superb wine, which is a true representation of Coola Road’s focus on quality.

The grapes were harvested and quickly pressed into 3 types of oak for fermentation; One new 300L French Hogshead 300L, one old 500L Puncheon and one 225L barrique previously used for Cabernet Sauvignon. The resultant wine is complex, combining biscuit and melon fruit with a hint of ‘Ochre’ colour and tannin complexity.
